BTS's Jimin, the septet's lead vocalist and main dancer, is making headlines as his song "Filter" topped the charts both internationally and locally. He recently added another record under his belt - snagging triple crown in iTunes, Amazon, and Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart, proving his immense popularity in the United States!
"Filter" hit its first #1 on the US iTunes Chart on July 12, Sunday. As of writing, the track has 55 no. 1s on iTunes.
"Filter" also ranked at #1 in Amazon for four days (from July 8 to July 11) in two categories - the "Best Seller" category and the "International Category." Back in June, the song ranked at #4 in Amazon's "Best Sellers of 2020."
Recently, the song also ranked at #9 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. It previously peaked at no. 3 on the chart and is spending its 18th week on the charts. Not only did it rank high, it is the highest spot a BTS solo song has charted.
Of course, ARMYs already knew that Jimin's popularity in the United States is no joke. Other than him charting on various charts, he had been mentioned and praised by winning film director Gus Van Sant, best-selling author Marie Lue, TV personalities Jimmy Fallon and James Corden, and even by fellow musicians like Nicole Scherzinger, Shawn Stockman, Khalid, and more.
Famous magazines such as TIME, People Magazine, Seventeen, and more have shared their praises for Jimin and update the mainstream media about Jimin and BTS's achievement. Most recently, he snagged first place in Pop Slider's "Teen Choice Award 2020" and also bagged the title of "Most Desirable 2020."
Additionally, "Filter" gained 2.2 million streams on Spotify in just 24 hours, which is the biggest debut title for a Korean soloist. It is currently the most streamed solo song for 2020, and Jimin is the first Korean soloist to have four songs surpass 60 million streams on Spotify.
The song also debuted at #2 on the following charts: MelOn, Bugs, Genie, Flo, and Soribada. It only trailed behind fellow BTS track "ON." "Filter" has also surpassed 150 million digital points on Gaon and is currently the most streamed boy group solo track on it's mid-year chart.
With all the song has accomplished so far, it's safe to say that Jimin is killing it not only in Korea, but worldwide too! Congratulations, Jimin!
