BTS's V self-composed OST "Sweet Night" has just topped the iTunes Chart in its 109th country, Switzerland. The song had broken numerous record and maintained its position on the charts despite being unpromoted. V is the first and only artist in the world to have a song chart at #1 in 109 countries. The song is an OST for the drama "Itaewon Class". The song is sang entirely in English.
On top of that, BTS's V is the first Korean soloist since PSY to get #1 in all European countries, and many are calling this an all-kill in Europe.
Back in July, V made headlines as his song has topped the charts in 102 countries, tying with Adele at second place for the most countries to have their song reach number one. He has since broken the record that was originally held by his group, BTS, who recently marked hitting #1 in 104 countries for "Black Swan".
Notably, V, BTS, and Adele are the only artists in the world to top the iTunes charts in more than 100 countries. Fans applaud V for constantly extending his record while also setting new ones as a group with BTS and as a soloist.
"Sweet Night" is also the highest charting song by a Korean soloist on the worldwide iTunes Top Songs Chart. Since its release on March 13, the song has sat on the charts for 62 days - roughly 2 months! Additionally, "Sweet Night" is the first official solo project for BTS's V and has its own music video.
