[Trigger Warning/Content Warning: Mentions of Bullying and Self-Harm]
Fans are positive about Kwon Mina's most recent updates on her Instagram on the aftermath of the bullying controversy.
The former AOA member shared her most recent updates on her official Instagram account with positive-looking photos since the height of the bullying controversy that she revealed, involving the now-former AOA leader, Shin Jimin.
Prior to her happy pictures, she expressed her thankfulness to those who cheered her up during the lowest point of her life. She also started sharing her day-to-day activities as seen by fans, which generated positive responses from her fans.
One of her posts shows her selfie while inside a stadium that shows her timid smile. In another series of photos, wherein she was striking several poses inside a studio, revealed that she is moving forward with her life through work. Then, a picture of her with a lady while dressed bathrobes show both having a great time together.
Mina's followers are looking forward to her recovery from the controversial bullying incident that she courageously revealed as something that caused her to self-harm. She confessed through a series of Instagram posts on July 3 that for ten long years, she had to endure the bullying perpetrated by Jimin.
This issue garnered a social media buzz and uproar from the K-pop world that made Jimin embrace tumultuous criticism. Jimin then released her letter of apology to the public through her SNS, and consequently, FNC Entertainment released an official statement about the issue and announced the withdrawal of the AOA leader from the group and her retirement from the industry.
Alongside this controversy, Seolhyun and Chanmi were also criticized by the netizens for allegedly not standing up for Mina while she was being bullied by Jimin. Keen-eyed fans discovered that Mina no longer follows Seolhyun and Chanmi. The former is well-known as someone closest to Jimin, and thusly, she was questioned for her relationship with Mina.
A couple of months before Mina's confession, fans have been asking netizens to send some encouraging words to Mina after she posted a cryptic photo that partially shows her scarred wrist, which possibly indicated self-harm. But when she finally dropped her revelation, she bravely admitted and showed her deeply scarred wrist as proof that she has been through a lot due to being the receiving end of bullying.
Bullying is one of the serious cases that have caused not one, but many unfortunate events in the world and even the K-pop industry didn't escape this ordeal. Some have resorted to the extremes, while others decided to fire back against the bullies and injustice.
In light of this, along with many other unfortunate incidents involving K-pop idols, a plethora of online users urge everyone to be mindful of the words they vomit on social media, and as much as possible, to retreat from expressing negativities against any person on their SNS to avoid further unpleasant events in the future.
