BLACKPINK Gears Up for New Release in August + Teases Fans With Mysterious Featuring Artist

BLACKPINK is gearing up for another single!

Following the girl group's consecutive successes in the music market with "How You Like That" domestically and internationally, BLACKPINK is set to dominate the music charts and stage once again with a new song.

On July 23, YG Entertainment posted BLACKPINK's "NEW SINGLE TEASER POSTER" on its official blog with the phrase "August 2020" written in it.

In the photo, the overall cheerful concept of BLACKPINK members is impressive and eye-capturing. The collective fresh visuals of the quartet and vibrant pink mood gave excitement to BLINKs as if watching a scene on a page in a cartoon.

The question mark left under the four-member cut of BLACKPINK further stimulated the curiosity of music fans. Following their collaboration with world-renowned pop star Lady Gaga in May, the idol group is set to collaborate with a new featuring artist in their new song, who remains a secret for now.

YG said earlier that "How You Like That" is the pre-release title of their first full-length album, to be released in September, and the agency plans to release special types of new songs ahead that as well. This time, attention is focused on the new flavor BLACKPINK, along with the mysterious featured artist, is set to deliver to K-pop fans who have been anticipating their full album.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has achieved remarkable results in the global music market with "How You Like That," which was released on June 26. The song rewrote the history of K-pop girl groups, after entering No. 20 and No. 33 on the British Official Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100, respectively, which are dubbed as the world's two largest pop charts. It also ranked second on the Spotify Global Top 50 Chart, the world's largest music streaming service, and topped iTunes in 64 countries, including the US.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK also topped Japan's Line Music and won three gold medals on China's largest music site QQ Chart. Not only did they won 10 domestic music awards from music shows, but the group also achieved "Perfect All-Kill," topping every major Korean music charts, including MelOn.

In addition, BLACKPINK broke a new world record with "How You Like That" Music Video as well. On the first day of its release, it recorded 86.3 million views, making it the "most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours," and was later on listed on the Guinness World Records in five categories. Since then, "How You Like That" music video has recorded 100 million views in about 32 hours, 200 million views in seven days, and 300 million views in 21 days, the shortest time to achieve the milestone in YouTube music video history.
