YouTuber and Twitch streamer Tubo, also known as Yang Joo Hwan, has returned to YouTube after a month of reflection following his controversial comments about IU.

On July 27, Tubo posted a video to his channel titled "Meanwhile," where he apologized for his actions. He said, "I want to apologize to everyone who has been harmed and affected by my thoughtless actions. I want to apologize to those who were disappointed by my actions and those whose reputations have been ruined by me."

In the video, he revealed that he became obsessed with the number and the views on his videos, which is why he chose to make provocative content. Following the controversy, however, he decided to rethink the direction of his channel. He said, "What happened was my fault, and I was able to look back on who I was through this incident. Starting from now, I will put more effort into showing my true self and bringing better content this way."

The incident happened in June while Tubo was streaming in Twitch. He participated in the "Ideal Type World Cup," where he was to choose between two celebrities. Turbo noticed BJ Baiik (real name Baik Ji Hoon) had made his username "IU" during the live steam.

Upon seeing the username, Turbo then made his sexually inappropriate joke, saying "IU, I'll put it in," He thrust his hips forward towards the camera. After that, the female BJ he was streaming with was heard saying, "Hey!" and hitting his arm to tell him he was out of line. In the video below, you can see him at the top with two female BJs next to him.

Following the backlash he received from his comments, Tubo made his first apology video simple titled "I'm sorry," in which he stated he would be taking a break from YouTube and Twitch streaming to reflect on his actions. He has since revealed that he will resume his regularly scheduled videos on August 1.

Some praised the YouTuber for being quick to apologize for his actions and for even apologizing twice. They had stated that it appears he feels genuinely apologetic and regrets his actions for the hurt it had caused fans and possibly IU herself.

However, others had questioned if his apology is coming from a sincere place, as he appears to be reading his apology from a screen. Some had wondered if he was moved to apologize after fans pointed out that IU could sue him for sexual harassment.

Do you think he did the right thing by apologizing?

IU debuted in 2008 under LOEN Entertainment, which has since been changed to Kakao M. She is known as "Korea's Little Sister" due to her sweet, natural, girl next door image. She is active as a singer-songwriter and actor, with some notable dramas shes acted in being "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," "The Producers," "My Mister," and "Hotel del Luna."
