BLACKPINK to Release Newest Track on August 28

Attention, BLINKs! BLACKPINK's new song will be unveiled on August 28!

YG Entertainment dropped a poster of BLACKPINK's "NEW SINGLE RELEASE" on its official SNS on August 4 KST. The image contains the phrase "2020.08.28 Fri," signaling that the release date of their new song is fast approaching.

The lovely and fresh individual looks of the four members against the sweet pink backdrop stand out, each in the four-part cut giving off a fresh and lively charm.

In addition, among these cuts, the "question mark" is still strong, raising fans' curiosity about the featured singer, although previous reports already stated that it will be the international pop sensation Selena Gomez, which YG Entertainment responded with an advise to wait for official announcements.

BLACKPINK has already achieved remarkable results by breaking various K-pop records on domestic and foreign music charts and YouTube with their pre-released song "How You Like That," which was released in June.

"How You Like That" broke the K-pop girl group's highest ranking by claiming the 13th spot in music broadcasting, second in the Spotify Global Top 50 chart, 20th on the British Official Singles Chart, and 33rd on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track also achieved the "Perfect All Kill" status on Melon.

On YouTube, the video surpassed 300 million views in the shortest time, including being listed on the Guinness World Records in five categories, and "Most views in 24 hours." BLACKPINK's number of subscribers also increased rapidly, topping the list of female artists worldwide and beating Ariana Grande.

Following their second new song, BLACKPINK will release their first full-length album in four years on October 2. While it was somewhat unusual for YG to announce the date by the schedule about two months later, the agency stressed that "BLACKPINK will focus on the global market with systematic and thorough planning and practice in 2020."

Currently, expectations are high about their featuring singer after BLACKPINK further augmented their global fame through their collaboration song "Sour Candy" with pop star Lady Gaga. Big industry names came out, such as international singers Ariana Grande and Charlie Puth.

Meanwhile, Rosé's most recent revelation about never dancing prior to her YG trainee days received huge praise fans as she has exhibited her stellar dancing skills on their performances.
