ABOUT SUPERM
SuperM debuted in 2019 under SM Entertainment. The group is known for being comprised of members from already existing SM Entertainment boy groups: SHINee's Taemin, EXO's Baekhyun and Kai, NCT 127's Taeyong and Mark, and WayV's Ten and Lucas. The group was formed to be a "K-Pop Super Boy Band" and to be "the Avengers of K-Pop".
The group had an American and Korean debut, establishing themselves as a global group. Though the group was originally met with mixed reactions, with the help of power of the fandoms of each member, SuperM was an instant success.
Their self-titled EP topped the Billboard 200, making SuperM the second South Korean group in history to chart at number one on the US album chart, and are the first K-pop group to do so with their debut release.
Their debut title track, "Jopping" was one of Billboard's picks for the "25 Best K-pop Songs of the Year" in 2019. Additionally, the song was included in Dazed Magazine, South China Morning Post, and Buzzfeed's lists of best K-Pop songs of the year.
In 2019, the group had their first North American tour called "We Are The Future Live". The tour was then extended to Latin America and Europe. They were meant to have a Tokyo Dome concert, but it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They then participated in an online concert series called "One World: Together at Home", which was organized to support the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund from the World Health Organisation.
In 2020, they held another online concert; this is their first live online concert, making them the first group from SM Entertainment to hold one. They performed in front of a live audience of 75,000 people from over 109 countries.
