Former AOA member Choa is rumored to be making her return to the music and entertainment industry. Sources say the former idol has met with multiple entertainment companies to make her comeback.
On August 3, Choa had her first activity in the entertainment industry, marking her first musical release since her retirement from the industry in 2017, singing the OST for the KBS drama "To All Th Boys Who Loved Me". Initially, it was unrevealed who the singer was, but fans were able to identify her as the singer due to her unique vocals. On August 6, it was revealed that Choa is the singer behind the OST. The track has yet to be formally released.
Reports at the time stated that it was unconfirmed if Choa would be making her return to the music industry. In 2017, she left AOA and subsequently left FNC Entertainment, retiring from the entertainment industry in June of that year.

Choa made her debut in 2012 as the main vocalist of AOA under FNC Entertainment.
The girls achieved breakthrough success two years after their debut (in 2014) following the release of "Miniskirt". The song peaked at #11 on the Gaon Digital Chart and #8 on the Bilboard K-Pop Ho 100. It was followed by "Short Hair", with this song peaking at #4 on th Gaon Weekly Album Chart and #5 on the Digital Chart. Later that year, the group released "Like a Cat", which was a huge success, peaking at #5 on the Gaon Digital Chart and topped the Gaon Social Chart for six weeks.
The group's most popular sng is "Heart Attack", released in 2015. The extended play of the same name peaked at number 2 on the Gaon Digital Chart and placed in the top 20 at the year-end digital charts, wth over one million downloads by the end of the year.
In 2013, Choa made her musical theatre debut, playing Gabriella in the musical "High School Musical".
In 2014, Choa released her very first solo OST for the TV Chosun Series "Bride of the Century". That same year, she was cast as a member of the MBC variety show "My Little Television". She left the show in May 2015.
In 2015, she became the model for the sports brand NBA's 2015 S/S. Tha same year, she was also cast as the model for Alba Heaven with Yoo Byung-Jae. She was additionally appointed as one of the permanent MCs of MBC's "We Got Married". In July of that year, Choa collaborated with Primary and Iron for the song "Don't Be Shy".
Choa debuted as a soloist in December 2015 with the song "Flame". In 2016, she was confirmed to be one of the MCs for the JTBC variety show, "Sing For You".
In June 2017, Choa announced she was be withdrawing from AOA, citing depression and insomnia. She revealed that she had tried to cope with medication, but there was little to no improvement in her mental health. This follows her hiatus from the group since January of that year. She remained signed under FNC Entertainment until 2019. In May of that year, she left her company after her contract expired and she decided not to renew.
