2. "As If It's Your Last" - BLACKPINK
"As If It's Your Last" was released in June 2017. The song was a success, topping the Billboard World Digital Song and charting at number two on the K-Pop Hot 100. It peaked at number three on the Gaon Digital Chart. The single sold more than 2.5 million copies in South Korea alone. It was well-loved for its reggae and moombahton influences.
3. "Through the Night" - IU
"Through the Night" was released in March 2017 and was co-written and co-composed by IU herself. Upon the song's debut, it topped all the major music sites in South Korea, becoming IU's 14 number-one single in South Korea. From its release until April 2019, it did not fall out of the top 100 songs on major music charts in the country. The song was praised for showcasing IU's songwriting skills and vocals, as well as how it flawlessly shows the emotions that build up while penning a letter to someone you love all night.
4. "Gashina" - Sunmi
"Gashina" was released in August 2017 and marked Sunmi's first musical release since her departure from JYP Entertainment. While it initially charted at number two on the Gaon Digital Chart, it peaked at the top of the charts a week later. The song was famous for its point choreography, with numerous idols performing covers of the song on shows. Sunmi was praised for her successful comeback without the support of a Big 3 agency.
5. "Palette" - IU
"Palette" was released in April 2017. IU had composed the song and written the lyrics with G-Dragon, who featured on the song. The song, like "Through the Night", was a huge success, topping all the major music sites in South Korea. It is IU's 16th number-one single in the country. IU was praised for the lyrics she wrote, with many complimenting her clever use of wordplay. The New York Times Magazine featured the song in the "25 Songs That Tell Us Where Music Is Going", with them commenting on how IU shows authenticity in K-Pop.
6. "Fine" - Taeyeon
"Fine" was released in February 2017. The single received positive reviews from music critics for Taeyeon's amazing vocal and strength ability. People also compared the musical styles to music from American soloist Taylor Swift. The song debuted at the top of the Gaon Digital Chart and charted at number seven on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart.
