BTS will receive the Korea Society's highest honor award for their massive contribution to the country.
South Korea gives BTS's works recognition, and once again, the boys will receive a prestigious award, "The James A. Van Fleet Award," which is said to be the highest honor a Korean citizen is entitled to get as a result of their massive contributions to the society.
The Korea Society is a non-profit agency that promotes "awareness, understanding, and cooperation" that lies between South Korea and the United States of America. Annually, the organization selects and bestows the "James A. Van Fleet Award" to notable Americans or Koreans for their excellent involvement in promoting the US-Korea relations.
For this 2020, the list of awardees includes BTS, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and American veterans who have served the Korean war. Since the current COVID-19 pandemic is majorly making a huge difference in the lives of South Korean, the usual annual gala will take an alternate arrangement in holding the event. With this, the Bangtan Boys will accept the prestigious award through a virtual event carrying this year's theme: "Enduring Alliance, Expanding Horizons," that will happen on the 7th of October.
Other well-known Korean and American personalities who received such an award in the previous years were: Yang Ho Cho of The Boeing Company (2019), Sohn Kyung Shik (2018), the former US President George W. Bush and Chey Tae-Won (2017), and Kwon Oh Joon, CEO and Chairman of POSCO (2016).
In addition, BTS is set to make history as the youngest recipients to accept the "James A. Van Fleet Award" since holding such event for 25 years. It was recalled that in 2018, BTS became the youngest awardees for the Order of Cultural Merit.
Meanwhile, BTS continues to entertain its fans despite the current pandemic as their recent funny activities have caught the attention of the mob. Also, the boys had engaged in voice dubbing recently. BTS's entertainment program, "Run BTS," which was released on the 11th, contained "Dubbing Directors' Cut (Director's Edition)." The episode features members performing another dubbing act that was not included in the previously released dubbing episode.
Unlike the previous episodes which also features the Bangtan Boys' dubbing, the director's cut changed the roles of each of the "Dalbang boarding houses" played by BTS while they perform voice acting.
