Former VIXX Hongbin expresses his feelings as he joins the military today.
Several weeks after Hongbin's formal announcement of leaving his group, VIXX, it was reported that the singer is officially enlisting in the military today. He shared his thoughts about his enlistment. "The process of joining the army today and going to the military service is just the beginning, but I think it will be time to solve something that was on my mind, so I think I'm somewhat relieved," Hong Bin said on his community bulletin board on the 18th.
He added that he would go and train safely, to protect the country well, and come back safely so that he can continue broadcasting for his fans.
Earlier in March, Hongbin was under fire for his rash acts, including insulting other idol groups while he was on a live broadcast under the influence of alcohol, and swearing at viewers. He was under hiatus for a while until recently, he communicated with his fans through his SNS account.
As the fans were initially thrilled that he is coming back for good, Hongbin immediately worried fans as he hinted of leaving his band through his Twitch account. Other than that, he also deleted his account on their fan café, which gave a reliable confirmation that he left VIXX.
As a response, his agency announced that after a close meeting and discussion, the members and Hongbin concluded a decision; he is leaving for good.
Hongbin debuted as one of the idol members of VIXX under Jelly Fish Entertainment in 2012. He appeared as an actor in 2014 through SBS' drama series, "Glorious Days." He was born and raised in the suburb of Seoul, South Korea. Hongbin went to Dong-ah Broadcasting College, majoring in Musical. He also made collaboration with MONSTA X Hyungwon in May 2019.
