BLACKPINK Confirms New MV Filming Done + Selpink Pulling Up Soon

BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez's collaboration is unstoppable.

BLACKPINK finished filming the music video ahead of the release of a new song in collaboration with Selena Gomez on the 28th. YG Entertainment said on the 19th that BLACKPINK's preparations for their worldwide comeback are going smoothly. Jisoo, Rose, Lisa, and Jennie are currently preparing for their last-minute comeback after completing their music video shoot.

The title of BLACKPINK's new song is yet to be unveiled and this adds thrill to BLINKs. No details have been made known except that the world-renowned pop star Selena Gomez will participate as a featured artist. Attention is also being paid to whether Selena will appear in BLACKPINK's new music video. She recently posted a photo on Instagram on the 18th, showing a pink car with a plate that reads "Selpink." As a result, global fans have expressed their expectations and curiosity about the upcoming music video.

"We ask for your understanding that we cannot say anything about the new music video yet," a YG official said. "But BLACKPINK's latest song is a very cool song that goes well with the hot summer," they added.

It is expected that there is the distinction from BLACKPINK's previous mega-hits "Kill This Love" and "How You Like That." A YG official explained that if BLACKPINK has shown swag and a female history of hip-hop-based music, the new song has more refreshing and lovely charms.

BLACKPINK swept not only major domestic and foreign music charts with its pre-released title "How You Like That" in June, but also established various new YouTube records to solidify its global position. "How You Like That" broke the K-pop record by ranking second on the Spotify Global Top 50 chart, and broke the K-pop girl group's all-time highest ranking by ranking 33rd and 20th in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the British Official Singles Top 100, respectively.

Also, the music video recorded 86.3 million views on the first day, officially listed in five categories of Guinness World Records, including "Most views of YouTube videos in 24 hours of release," and has achieved the shortest record of 100 million views in a row. The number of subscribers to BLACKPINK's YouTube channel has also surpassed 44.1 million, making it the No. 1 female artist in the field and the No. 4 among men and women.

Black Pink's popularity is expected to accelerate with the release of a collaboration song with Selena Gomez on the 28th. Their world-class moves are also drawing keen attention as they are expected to release their first full-length album in four years since BLACKPINK's debut on Oct. 2. Stay tuned for more updates!
