On August 21, Friday, BTS released the music video for their first all-English single "Dynamite"! The music video shows the boys dancing in front of a "Disco" storefront and a beautiful, pink lemonade sunset. Just the video alone gives off feelings of joy and happiness. The dancing of the music video notably has simpler movements that allow each member to sing and express themselves to their heart's content!
The video was released in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, and BTS proves that no virus can stop them from sharing their music with the world. The track is dedicated to all the fan listeners who are feeling downcast and sad due to the ongoing pandemic. Member Suga said in a press conference that the song has a message of happiness and confidence and that he hopes people can bop along to the bubbly disco-type song.
Suga also mentioned that the song is for those who are doing everything they can during these trying times; they hope the song can shine a light on those people and give them strength. Jimin said that during these times, everyone, including them, had fallen into helplessness and emptiness. Their new song "Dynamite" can help people feeling those emotions and provide them with good energy.
This is BTS's first all-English song. Though the boys in the past had expressed that they would never do a song in all English, the pandemic changed them. While preparing for the album and came across this song, they decided to try singing in all English. BTS member Jungkook had said that it was both fun yet difficult, and the boys are happy they can share the song and music video with fans. However, member V has stated that fans shouldn't expect another English song anytime soon.
Member J-Hope has stated that they want to share the song with people so that people can have a feel-good vibe when listening. They put in extra effort to convey their message of gaining strength, and fans can definitely feel it.
"Dynamite" is a funky, disco-pop song that is refreshing from beginning to end. According to Jin, the melody and choreography are both easy to follow, and fans are sure to get hyped when listening to it! The song will give strength, hope, and encouragement to their listeners.
As of August 21, 1:35 PM KST, the music video has already garnered a whopping 13M views. It seems like the boys are on the road to breaking another record! Check out the music video here:
