IU's style of singing is praised in South Korea for being sweet, youthful, and emotive. Many have praised IU's high note in her breakthrough song "Good Day", due to his difficult the notes are to reach. She also has an amazing range, easily going from falsetto to maximizing her lower register. She is stylistic vocal which Korea has fallen in love with thanks to her mellow, jazzy music.
Of course, IU is also praised as an amazing songwriter. She first started songwriting in 2010 for her third extended play "Play", having written the song "Alone in the Room". Starting from 2011, IU started taking more creative control in her music, with most of her releases being written b IU herself. Her extended play, "Love Poem", is the first album that was written entirely herself. She has spread out from writing for just herself and has written for other artists, such as Park Ji Yoon, Jehwi, JeA, Yoo Seungho, Cherry B, Jung Seunghwan, and High4.
IU is also an amazing actress. She first debuted as an actress in 2011 in the teen drama "Dream High". She has since become one of South Korea's most well-loved actresses, and is known for her roles in "You're the Best, Lee Soon-shin", "Pretty Man", "The Producers", "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo", "My Mister", "Persona", and "Hotel del Luna".
Lastly, IU has an amazing heart and a talent for giving back! She has also established a scholarship at her alma-mater in 2016, which was dubbed "IU Scholarship", and it is designed to help four graduates from families in need of financial aid.
With all these talents, anyone could think that IU is basically perfect. However, there is one thing she just has difficulties with. And that is her sense of direction!
Yup, IU has difficulties with directions. She has admitted this herself, saying that she is really bad at telling left from right. She even confessed that she doesn't know which way to turn after getting off the elevator at her own apartment complex, and she's lived there for three years!
