Police prosecution team will have Im Seulong for investigation.
Authorities plan to forward the singer and actor Im Seulong to the prosecution next week at the latest. According to Star News, the police investigation is virtually in its final stages, thus summoning Im Seulong for another closed-door investigation soon.
Car accident that killed a pedestrian
Im Seulong caused a rain road accident at 11:50 p.m. on the 1st of August at a crosswalk near the three-way bus stop at DMC Station in Susaek-ro, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. At that time, the SUV driven by Im Seulong hit a pedestrian who was jaywalking and eventually died in the clash. As a result, the singer-actor was charged with violating the Act on Special Cases concerning the Handling of Traffic Accidents and returned home after being investigated by police. He was negative from drunk driving at the time of the accident as confirmed.
Immediately after the accident, Jellyfish Entertainment also said in its official position, "We pray to the victim for the repose of the deceased in connection with the death accident, and express our deepest condolences to the bereaved families."
Im Seulong said, "We took proper measures at the scene right after the accident, but unfortunately, the victim died while being transported to the hospital."
Since it was a traffic accident death, the police secured CCTVs and black boxes of vehicles around the driver's car while also closely monitoring some of the faults of pedestrians. In a related development, CCTV footage of Im Seulong's accident was also released, causing a stir. A white SUV driven by the celebrity collided with a man crossing a crosswalk with an umbrella when it was a red light, and the victim crashed into an SUV two seconds after entering the crosswalk.
Police officials told Star News that they failed to summon Im Seulong for further questioning last week and are likely to proceed this week. The date and related details of the summons are under investigation, therefore other details of the investigation is yet to be revealed. The police almost reached a conclusion on the case and they will send it to the prosecution within next week at the latest.
