Men's Folio has revealed that iKON's Bobby will be gracing the cover of their September 2020 Knockout Issue. The issue also contains more photos from their photoshoot as well as an interview. During the interview, Bobby discusses iKON's comeback earlier this year, "DIVE".
iKON's latest album, "i DECIDE" was released earlier this year and is a five-album track that features a range of styles. When talking about the preparations for this album, Bobby said, "It has been a long time since we released our last album, so working on this one was not easy. We really had to keep in tune as a group while we worked on our music. But all in all, I think it came out great and I am very proud of our work."
He also revealed that at the time of preparing their album, the last comeback they had was over a year ago, so he enjoyed getting together with his members and spending time with them. He also misses performing on stage. The one difficulty they had is dance, saying, "It is really hard for all six of us to synchronize and dance as one."
Bobby revealed his favorite song from the album. The first two lines of the song are sung by Donghyuck. The first two lines of the song goes, "The scent that falls over every place the winter winds blow through / the moonlight is used a spotlight as it shines over only the faded memories." Have you guessed which song it is?
It's "Flower"! When talking about the song, he said, "I was with him [Donghyuck] throughout the process, and seeing him produce the track made me very proud. I love that song and it is my favorite track from the album!"
Bobby expresses how grateful he is to the fans who have waited for them in the interview, saying, "We are extremely thankful to our fans who have been waiting for this new album. We would like them to know that, just like our song title, we would DIVE into anything for them."
Bobby was born in South Korea but moved to the United States in the fourth grade. He moved back to South Korea in 2011 to pursue his musical career after passing the YG Entertainment auditions in New York and debuted in 2015 with iKON. Since then, iKON has released a warm-up single, a debut half album, a double digital single, two original albums, three extended plays, a single album, two singles, and a repackage album. Bobby himself has released his own solo album.
Bobby revealed in his interview that he doesn't recall much of his life before becoming a K-pop star since he started at such a young age. "But one thing is for sure," Bobby says, "Is that I am receiving a tremendous amount of love which I am so grateful for. It has been a journey of love."
In the interview, Bobby talks more about leaving his family behind in the United States, how he deals with pressure from work, his other hobbies, and what he does when inspiration strikes. To read more of his interview, check it out here.
