These K-pop groups swept every "Rookie of the year" award from all of major awards shows!

Most of the time, K-pop groups strive hard on their first year upon debut, as they are still gaining fans and building their image to attain popularity. However, the following groups only took a year to bring home rookie of the year awards from major awards shows including MNET Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Golden Disk Awards (GDA), Seoul Music Awards (SMA), Gaon Chart Music Awards and MelOn Music Awards (MMA)---thus achieving the "Grand Slam" title for rookie groups.

SHINee, who debuted in 2008 under SM Entertainment is the first K-pop groups to have the title of "Rookie Grand Slam." What's making it more interesting is that they debuted without proper promotion as they had a surprise debut and their group is just experimental.

In 2016, iKon became the first-ever K-pop groups to join SHINee as "Power Rookies" in eight years. The male group debuted under YG Entertainment in 2015, sweeping all of the awards from the five major awards shows.
