BLACKPINK Jisoo is set to make her first main lead role through the upcoming Korean drama, "Snowdrop"!
On Monday, JTBC via Naver's article confirmed that the member of the world-renowned group, Jisoo, will be playing the main lead role alongside actor Jung Hae In.
According to the article, the female idol is set to work with Writer Yoo Hyun Mi and Director Jo Hyun Tak for a new JTBC project titled, "Snowdrop" (tentative title), which will be going to be their reunion drama following the success of the mega-hit "Sky Castle."
Furthermore, the rookie actress Jisoo will be starring with actor Jung Hae In, Kim Hye Yoon, Jang Seung Jo, Yoon Se Ah, and Jeong Eugene, who are also confirmed to be appearing on the drama as main casts.
Jisoo, who is challenged to play her first female lead role, will be portraying the character of a lovely freshman named Eun Young Cho under the English Literature Department. In addition to this, she will also be playing a happy-go-lucky and bright character, who's the mood maker in their university's dormitory No. 207.
Her story started when she went on a blind date and happened to fall in love with Lim Soo Ho (Jung Hae In) at first sight. They parted ways, yet fate worked for her as they reunited again when she treated the injured Soo Ho in their dormitory.
Meanwhile, actor Jung Hae In will be playing the role of Lim Soo Ho, a graduate student at a prestigious university who is hiding various stories about his real identity. Soo Ho, who came from Germany, is the fantasy of every woman for his perfect image, charisma, heart-capturing smiles, and his hidden charms. Jisoo's role will be untangled with him, and their story will begin.
Seol Kang Hwa's production team said, "As actors with both luxury acting skills and visuals are gathered in one place, we will visit viewers with more complete works." JTBC's new drama "Snowdrop" will air in 2021.
As soon as fans and supporters of Jisoo, particularly BLINKs (fandom of BLACKPINK) found out about the details for Jisoo's upcoming drama, they were amazed by her role and are now expecting to see and hear Jisoo's English lines as an English Literature student.
Moreover, fans are anticipating what kind of super acting Jisoo will be going to showcase in the drama, following her perfect acting as a cameo for recent Korean dramas including "The Producer" and "Arthdal Chronicles."
Jisoo also received tons of support for her acting career, following her superior performances in BLACKPINK's MVs, wherein the idol featured serious emotions and acting, capturing every viewer's heart--especially her scenes in recent record-breaking MV, "Lovesick Girls," the main track of their first full-length album, "THE ALBUM."
Aside from topping various Korean and International music charts, on this day, BLACKPINK became the first Korea act as well who exceeds 50 Million subscribers, a significant indicator that their popularity is continuously rising as the biggest female K-pop group as of now in the world.
