Gayoung, as well as the other members of Stellar, are the victims of hate from Korean netizens due to the group's provocative concepts. In the show, she revealed that the concept was forced upon her and the girls.
In the clip, Gayoung tearfully reveals how apologetic she is over the hate her brother received because of her. She said, "You did so well this time. That is why there were so many articles online about you, but a lot of them kept mentioning Stellar. I feel like I ruined your name. I am so sorry."
Kim Sung Pyo admitted that it had not been easy for both of them. He is seen saying, "I find it unfortunate that people look at Stellar as an erotic group."
In a side interview with the producers, Kim Sung Pyo revealed that when people talked about his sister, it made him feel uncomfortable because of how they thought about her. Despite that, he still cheers her on. He says, "I felt uncomfortable when people talked to me about my sister because they immediately thought of something erotic. Still, all I could do was cheer her on, because I knew that she herself was struggling."
Though it is not her fault, Gayoung continued to sob and express how apologetic she felt for having caused her brother hurt. "I really felt so bad because I thought to you, I was a shameful sister."
Earlier this month, Gayoung opened up about the trauma she developed over the group's provocative concepts. She revealed that the group originally debuted with a pure concept, which Gayoung had greatly preferred. However, their innocent concept was not earning them any recognition. That is why their company, The Entertainment Pascal, transitioned the group to a provocative concept. Despite how much Gayoung hated it, she could not be happy nor sad because of the boost of activities they had.
She also revealed that she and her members refused to wear provocative clothing for their music video, flat out refusing to wear it. They were telling the company that they were unable to dance in it but was told by their producer to just try it. In the end, they ended up releasing the music video. Due to the trauma she incurred, she never wears short-sleeved shirts or short pants because she cannot bear to see her own skin.
Additionally, she shed tears as she revealed people had questioned her mother on why her daughter was doing such provocative concepts. She also claimed she earned less than 10 million won during her seven years as a member of Stellar.
Her former company, The Entertainment Pascal, claims Gayoung's statement as defamation. They claimed the settlement they gave the members is definitely over 10 million won. He also claimed that the parents of the members were consulted over the concept and that some members' parents insisted on doing even sexier concepts.
