A fashion pictorial depicting the collaboration between BLACKPINK Jennie and luxury fashion house Chanel was released today.
In the November issue of fashion magazine W Korea, BLACKPINK Jennie's unique Chanel cover pictorial was released. In the pictorial, Jennie drew attention for her unique charm and mature elegancewhile perfectly showcasing the "COCO Crush" jewelry of Chanel and the new Chanel Cruise collection outfit.
Jennie's pictorial show a subtle bold charm that is stealing the hearts of fans and non-fans alike not just in Korea but also worldwide. Netizens are pointing out that she looks classy and sophisticated and that the brand suits her personality perfectly. It is no shock therefore, that Jennie was chosen as Chanel's muse.
Jennie said through an interview with W, "I feel the most pleasure and excitement when I stand on stage. These days, I can't communicate closely with my fans, but the shouts and energy that the audience gives me when I stand on the stage is always a big force. When I was young, I vaguely dreamed of living like I am now. However, the reality of achieving those dreams one by one still feels like a miracle."
BLACKPINK broke its own records with their first regular album, The Album. On the Billboard 200 chart, The Album debuted at number two, with 110,000 units moved, becoming the highest-charting female Korean album and the highest-charting album by an all-female group since Danity Kane's "Welcome to the Dollhouse" in 2008.
Elsewhere, The Album reached number one in New Zealand and opened inside the top ten in Australia, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, Norway, Scotland, Slovakia, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
The full-length album reached the top of the iTunes album charts in 57 countries worldwide right after the album's release on the 2nd. Also, it ranked first in the US Billboard Artist 100 chart released on the 13th (local time) and was the first K-pop girl group to upload two songs simultaneously on the Billboard main single chart Hot 100.
The record sales volume is also setting a new record for K-pop girl groups. BLACKPINK's The Album was ranked 2nd on the Billboard's main album chart, Billboard 200, and ranked 2nd on the UK official album chart released on the 9th, showing an unrivaled move back and forth across the world's two pop charts.
