Fans of LOONA's, particularly Orbit (their fandom) express their disappointment on social media platforms following the cancellation of SBS 'The Show' episode that is supposed to have a broadcast this October 27. According to the internationally popular group's fandom, LOONA has a high possibility of bringing home another music show win, if it weren't for the sudden cancellation.
In particular, the female idol group made their return on October 19 with a bop track 'Why Not?' simultaneously with an MV that eventually captured the interest of several K-pop enthusiasts after eight months of hiatus in the music scene. Their promotion then started within the week, and one of these is the announcement of their participation in 'The Show.' Orbits are then stimulated to give the idols another win following their first win last March with their track, 'So What?'.
In a music show prediction, LOONA is leading in terms of digital, YouTube, and album sales scores among the other K-pop groups that are supposed to be on the next broadcast's lineup including PENTAGON, VERIVERY, and WEEEKLY.
Though in a notice, LOONA will appear for the next airing of the show which is supposed to be in November, but along with other huge K-pop groups who will be having a comeback next week. The group got a huge international fandom and popularity, but the supporters of LOONA think that the chances to get a second win for the group will be slim, considering the big competitors who will be having their return this November.
Due to this, #TheShowApologizeToLoona trends as a form to call out the music show and ask SBS 'The Show' to at least announce the winner.
Fans are enraged that it feels like they are sabotaging the group, not to mention that Koreans are also attacking LOONA's new album for allegedly coming back with bad songs. ORBITS, the fandom of LOONA around the world is participating in the Twitter hashtag party, claiming that they won't stand still while their group is continuously being unfairly treated.
LOONA initially debuted as a pre-debut group starting in 2016, through the form of sub-units. In 2018, they finally debuted as a whole under Blockberry Creative. The group comprises 12 members including Haseul, Vivi, Yves, JinSoul, Kim, Lip, Chuu, Heejin, Hyunjin, Go Won, Choerry, Olivia Hye, and Yeojin.
Debuting under the small company, LOONA has still a long way to gain recognition from domestic fans, but the group is indeed well-acknowledged in international countries. Aside from making it several times in Billboard's social chart system, they also won in the MTV Europe Music Awards 2018 as "Best Korean Act."
Other personalities also notice LOONA and ORBITS, including Jeff Benjamin, a Billboard's K-pop Columnist, and TIDAL's editor, who recently announced that LOONA earned their spot as the cover for TIDAL's K-pop Queen playlist, and commended ORBITs for their work to chart the group on Billboard.
The fandom is still working on it, as Go Won also wishes to make it to the Billboard main chart. In addition, Olivia Hye and Yeo Jin also expressed their aim to get greater results in music shows and music charts, which is inspiring Orbits to give them what they deserve.
