Upcoming Boy Group ENHYPEN Receives Gold YouTube Play Button Before Debut
While they have not yet made their official debut until next month, the upcoming K-pop boy group ENHYPEN has already reached a milestone!
On October 23, BELIFT LAB - a joint venture between two companies, specifically Big Hit Entertainment and CJ ENM - announced that the Korean male act had earned a Gold Play Button from YouTube after the group's official YouTube channel exceeded one million subscribers.
Taking into account that ENHYPEN only created their YouTube channel nearly a month ago and that they haven't been officially introduced to the public makes the achievement more notable. The group's YT channel is one of the means ENHYPEN members use to update the fans. Each member makes practice journals, which are then uploaded on YT.
In addition to that, the time when ENHYPEN celebrated Chuseok (Korean thanksgiving) was also released on their YouTube channel and the boys' photoshoots and the announcement of their official fan club name.
Furthermore, the forthcoming boy group has already dropped their debut trailer on October 22 at midnight KST through Big Hit's YouTube channel. The teaser is titled 'Debut Trailer 1: Choose-Chosen,' and it runs for more than a minute. Following the video's release, the number of views hit approximately 3 million in only 24 hours.
Apart from the views, hashtags related to ENHYPEN trended in different countries, such as the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia. In particular, the 'ENHYPEN BEST BOYS' already reached 40,000 tweets and continues to trend in the said places.
What's more, the other social media accounts of ENHYPEN have already reached six-digit numbers. The group's TikTok account has more than 2 million followers, while their Instagram account is followed by 1.3 million people.
ENHYPEN is consists of seven members, namely Jay, Sunghoon, Heeseung, Jungwon, Jake, Ni-ki, and Sunoo. These boys were chosen from a survival reality show that was held by BELIFT LAB. The competition was called I-LAND and started on June 26 until September 18 this year. It initially consisted of 23 participants, but one contestant voluntarily withdrew from the program due to health problems.
In the finale of the show, only 9 competitors were left. Six of them secured a spot in the final line-up through global votes, and they are Heeseung, Jungwon, Sunghoon, Ni-ki, Jay, and Jake. Meanwhile, the last member to join the group is Sunoo, who was the producer's pick.
Stay tuned for ENHYPEN's upcoming debut this November!
