Previous K-Pop girl group Rainbow has reunited not for a new track or album, but something more special.
Last October 2019, former Rainbow member Jisook was revealed to be dating Lee Doo Hee, a businessman, and a programmer. The two of them are cast members on MBC's reality show called "Don't Be Jealous, which presents the love stories and everyday lives of celebrities in a relationship. Then on June 30 this year, the couple announced that they have decided to be wed to each other.
That day, Lee Doo Hee stated that it was difficult to book a wedding hall in the first half of the year because of the current COVID-19 pandemic. "Instead of waiting for the right day, whichever date we can get will be the right day," he added.
On October 27, Jisook and her soon-to-be husband unveiled that they will be holding the wedding on October 31. Jisook's agency Starit Entertainment released an official statement that day, disclosing the matter. The company also stated that both parties only invited their families and close friends and will be conducting a private ceremony. Additionally, a few wedding shots of the couple were shared on the same day.
Then, on October 29, the future wife posted several sets of wedding pics on her personal Instagram account. And this time, she was with her fellow former Rainbow members. All six of Jisook's bandmates were present, and these are Woori, Seungah, Jaekyung, Noeul, Yoonhye, and Hyunyoung. Three of the wedding shots show the group holding a pair of shoes that represent each of the members' colors, specifically red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet - they are called Rainbow after all so it is expected that they use the actual colors of the rainbow. Each member even wore the shoes and formed a curve to represent their group, Rainbow. Jisook is the first Rainbow member to get married.
Before she was cast on MBC's "Don't Be Jealous, Jisook was a singer who debuted as a member of K-Pop girl group Rainbow under DSP Media. The female act released the music video for their debut single "Gossip Girl on November 6, 2009. The extended play "Gossip Girl, which is composed of five tracks, was launched six days after that.
Rainbow also debuted in Japan with their debut song titled "A on September 14, 2011. The track took the No. 3 spot on Oricon's daily single chart after selling 10 141 album copies. On January 4, 2012, Jisook was unveiled to be part of Rainbow's sub-unit called 'Rainbow Pixie' and fellow Rainbow members Seungah and Hyunyoung. The trio released their debut track "Hoi Hoi on January 12 of the same year.
On February 13, 2013, Rainbow launched the first part of their first studio album "Rainbow Syndrome. After more than a year, the girl group's second sub-unit was formed, and it was called "Rainbow Blaxx, which debuted on January 20, 2014, with their special album "RB Blaxx together with its title track "Cha Cha.
On November 12, 2016, Rainbow disbanded following the members' end of the contract. But three years later, the K-Pop female act reunited to celebrate their tenth anniversary by launching their self-produced single "Over the Rainbow on November 14.
