Rumors say that a former trainee from SM and JYP entertainments is included in the upcoming girl group of Big Hit and Source Music.
Big Hit Entertainment previously announced that they plan to have several debuts from 2020 to 2022, both under the main branch and its subsidiaries. And one of those debuts is that of a new girl group under Big Hit and Source Music's management.
These past months, rumors spread online, saying that former trainees from various companies might debut under Big Hit Entertainment. Some state that some of the trainees of SM Entertainment that are rumored to be part of the final lineup of Big Hit x Source Music's new girl group appeared on a show in 2015. The other buzzes say that three former members of the disbanded female act PRISTIN might debut as one of the new girl group members, as well as Huh Yunjin, who competed in Produce 48 in 2018.
Recently, Koeun, a former trainee of SM Entertainment who was featured in a variety show before, is rumored to be joining Big Hit's upcoming female group. And besides her, Sakurai Miu, who previously participated in the Nizi Project of JYP Entertainment and failed to be included in the final lineup of NiziU, is claimed to be another Big Hit trainee.
On a famous community forum, a netizen shared some info about the alleged trainees. The netizen wrote, "I can't talk about it in detail, but I heard it from a trainer that 'O' (Koeun) has joined 'BGH' (Big Hit). They didn't directly confirm it, but they mentioned former SM Entertainment director 'MHJ' (Min Hee Jin) and the girl group that she's working on."
The netizen then said that she doesn't want to spread any false information as much as she wants to tell more about Koeun. She added that she's not a friend of the rumored Big Hit trainee and that if people find the info something that can't be trusted, the netizen suggests to ignore it.
Meanwhile, in a different blog post, another netizen spoke on account of Sakurai Miu, who didn't make it to the final lineup of members of NiziU that is currently managed by JYP Entertainment and Sony Music. The netizen posted, "There's a rumor going around that Big Hit x Source Music's new girl group will be taking in the most precious jewel Miu, and the other agencies are eyeing her as well."
Last October, rumors were stating that Big Hit and Source Music will be revealing their new girl group not long after the comeback promotions of GFriend. It was said that the upcoming female act is scheduled to debut in 2021 but the two agencies decided to start the hype.
Also, it was previously shared that the group will be named HYBE and that it is composed of five to six members that will work on a concept that has never been seen in the K-Pop industry before.
How do you feel about the two rumored Big Hit trainees potentially being part of the new girl group?
