The positive influence of the recently crowned King of Kpop 2020, Jimin, has led to doing good deeds for other people.
On November 2, BTS's Jimin's fan base in the United States of America, called Park Jimin USA, has donated under the idol's name to help those greatly affected by the super typhoon Rolly (internationally named Goni), which battered the Philippines on November 1. It is considered the strongest tropical cyclone in the world for 2020 so far, taking people's lives and destroying houses, crops, bridges, and more.
On Twitter, the fan base 'Park Jimin USA' posted, "to extend our help to our friends from the Philippines who have been recently battered by Super Typhoon Rolly (Goni), we have donated under Park Jimin's name to SaveChildrenPH to help the children and families affected. Because we cannot make them wait." BTS's Jimin's fans also persuaded others to give their donations to assist more Filipino victims.
Save the Children is the world's top independent organization for children. In the Philippines, when a certain crisis occurs and affects the children, they are the first to take action. Considering the destruction caused by the super typhoon, the said association has been accepting donations to help children and families suffering.
Besides Park Jimin USA, BTS fan base ARMY Bayanihan from the Philippines also started a fundraising event to provide food packs to those greatly affected by the super typhoon. They ask people to buy rice from the farmers and give it to the Filipino victims.
Meanwhile, BTS's Jimin's fan base in Turkey called Fairy Chim TR also posted on Twitter regarding a current call for donations to assist the victims of a major earthquake in Izmir, Turkey, last October 30 this year. The fan base is seeking support, which can be directly given to the Turkish Red Crescent and AKUT Search & Rescue Association, the organization that will be assisting the affected individuals.
These immediate actions were strongly influenced by BTS's Jimin's donations, which the idol has been practicing for several years already. From time to time, the male artist would donate to the education fund of students who don't have enough money to support their educational needs. Jimin would give donations even outside of his hometown, assisting in replacing chairs and tables for all the students. The singer advocates this practice by saying, "We should give as much as we receive."
In other news, BTS's Jimin has again won the title 'King of Kpop' for this year, after King Choice closed its poll on October 31 and the male idol had a total of 12,568,794 votes. Last 2019, Jimin also earned the same title. Earlier in May this year, Jimin also took the No. 1 spot on King Choice's 'Top Male K-Pop idol Dancer Rankings of 2020' after getting 6,281,147 votes.
Moreover, the K-Pop star has become the first and only Korean solo artist to have collective streams of 400 million on Spotify with his four solo tracks, entitled 'Filter,' 'Lie,' 'Intro: Serendipity,' and 'Serendipity Full Length Edition.'
