Hooray! YG Entertainment's 3-month-old rookie boy group TREASURE has accumulated 700,000 album sales from the three mini-albums they have released.
According to YG Entertainment, TREASURE's latest album, "The First Step: Chapter Three," has already sold over 210,000 copies as of Monday, Nov. 16. The agency representative said they are expecting that the group will become a million-seller with their first full-length album in January of 2021. He added that due to TREASURE members' young age and increased interaction with fans, the group is still expected to gain more fans and followers worldwide.
"Boy" went on to find global success in Japan, topping large music streaming platforms including Line Music, Rakuten, and AWA rising charts. Their music video surpassed 10 million views in 26 hours on YouTube, making them the fastest South Korean debut act to achieve this since the platform's change in policy in September 2019, where paid advertising views were debunked. TREASURE began promotions on Aug. 9 through their first music show appearance on SBS's Inkigayo.
The second installment to their series was released on Sept. 18, in the format of a single album, titled "The First Step: Chapter Two," with the lead single "I Love You." The group acquired the title "Half Million Seller," with their accumulated sales figure from their previous two albums. The group also began promoting their comeback on Sept. 19 through a performance on MBC's music program Show! Music Core.
The third single from TREASURE was released on Nov. 3, and fans could not stop gushing over the group's skills and talent, as well as their innovative concepts.
TREASURE is truly living up to their title of "monster rookies," and fans cannot wait for them to release their first full-length album in January 2021.
Stay tuned for more updates on TREASURE!
