ARMYs around the world rejoiced when it was reported on Tuesday, Dec. 22, that Suga has been reunited with his BTS members for a commercial.
Speculations have it that Suga has officially made his comeback for an advertisement alongside his co-members. Most, if not all, fans can recall that the rapper was forced to be on a temporary hiatus after he suffered from a persisting shoulder injury.
However, Big Hit Entertainment told Newsn that it cannot confirm the reports about Suga attending an advertisement shoot today. The agency added that it is only confirming the released schedule and nothing else.
Suga has been facing issues with his shoulder even before he was launched as a member of BTS. It was revealed that a car accident, while he was working as a delivery boy, caused the "Boy with Luv" hitmaker to dislocate his shoulder, and since then, he had to endure numerous health issues.
Suga reportedly kept his injury a secret at the time since he was prohibited to be working on any other companies while he was a trainee at Big Hit Entertainment. The agency, later on, learned about it and aided the BTS member to get proper help and treatment for his shoulder. Unfortunately, it has not fully recovered even after he debuted as part of the now-popular South Korean all-male band.
Big Hit Entertainment revealed that Suga has been dealing with constant pain over the years, which affected his daily life and stage performances. The agency stated that he has tried his best to treat the injury to no avail.
In 2019, it was announced that Suga was diagnosed to have a "posterior labral tear of his left shoulder," which required him to undergo surgery to repair the cartilage properly. However, due to the hectic schedule of BTS, Suga decided to delay getting the surgery.
Since Suga is very close to entering the military for his mandatory service, he decided to undergo surgery. It was perfect timing for him as well since the COVID-19 pandemic forced BTS to cancel their world tour.
It was then announced that Suga went under the knife on Nov. 3. Big Hit Entertainment divulged that the surgery was successful, and the agency hopes it would fully repair the torn shoulder of the BTS member.
However, it was also announced that Suga would not be able to attend the promotional events for the "BE" album as he is still on his way to recovery. Suga even missed the chance to perform with his members during the 2020 American Music Awards and the recently concluded 2020 KBS Song Festival.
During the KBS Gayo Daekcukje 2020, Jimin said he misses Suga a lot and realized that the latter left a huge void to fill. RM also expressed his sadness over the fact that Suga was not able to grace the prestigious event with them, adding that he misses his co-member's cool and intuitive care.
Jin even stated that Suga's absence has affected the overall mood of the band since they all miss his jokes. J-Hope, on the other hand, admired how Suga worked so hard in producing new music for the group.
