BTS member V was named on Saturday, Dec. 26, as the very first K-Pop personality who received a birthday video greeting in the outer wall of Dubai's Burg Khalifa, which is currently considered as the tallest building in the world.
A fans club called Bai Du Diva proclaimed that the light and sound show they prepared for BTS member V would be screened for three minutes on Wednesday, Dec. 30, in the Burj Khalifa building. This, according to the avid followers of the "Dynamite" singer, is prepared in line with his 26th birthday celebrations.
Should this push through, BTS member V would be the only Korean celebrity who would be featured in a birthday advertisement to be shown in the world's tallest building, which has a total of 163 floors and a total height of 828 meters. It was even reported that the Dubai Fountain would play V's first English solo single titled "Winter Bear" afterward.
To recall, the South Korean band EXO was shown in an advertisement in Burj Khalifa in 2018, which was organized by China Baidu EXO Bar. At the time, Kai, Baekhyun, D.O. Chanyeol, Sehun, Lay, Suho, Chen, and Xiumin were the first people, who are not part of the royalty, to be featured on the world's largest LED screen. The Dubai Fountain even played EXO's trending track "Power" after the light show.
BTS member V also surprised his devoted supporters when he released a new solo track called "Snow Flower" on Friday, Dec. 25, on YouTube. The "Life Goes On" singer worked with producer, rapper, and singer-songwriter Peakboy for his holiday single.
In a message BTS member V wrote on the group's official blog, the "Boy With Luv" hitmaker said he hopes that white flowers would come down to the hearts of his fans as they hear his latest solo track. He added that might his avid followers find happiness and warm comfort, especially during these trying times when uncertainty, anxiety, and depression have proliferated due to the perils brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before V launched "Snow Flower," Jimin also released a song called "Christmas Love" on Thursday, Dec. 24, while Jin revealed his latest solo single titled "Abyss" on Dec. 4. BTS, which is composed of also Jimin, Jin, V, J-Hope, Jungkook, RM, and Suga, released their second album this year called "BE" on Nov. 20, which contains a total of eight songs, namely: "Life Goes On," "Fly to my Room," "Blue & Grey," "Dynamite," "Stay," "Telepathy," "Skit" and the controversial "Dis-ease."
As of Dec. 26, "BE" and "Map of the Soul: 7" rank 19th and 133rd in the Billboard 200 Chart. Their second EP in 2020 has also become the group's fifth number-one album in America, which made Jimin, Jin, V, J-Hope, Jungkook, RM, and Suga the fastest group to have five number-one albums since the Beatles. BTS was even the first-ever group to have two chart-topping albums listed in the United States in 2020 and the second after the YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
