ARMYS were sent into a frenzy when Coca-Cola Indonesia released a new advertisement video on its official Twitter account on Monday, Jan. 4, 2020, as the background songs sounds very familiar to them. Avid followers of Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, Suga, and RM started to discuss if the vocals for the commercial were recorded by BTS.
The clip in question gave a glimpse on how Coca-Cola products reach its consumers - from being manufactured in its plant to delivery and hitting vending machines and stores for purchase. One netizen even suggested that Jungkook's voice was used initially, while Jimin's voice was used for the adlibs of the song. Jin and V were, allegedly, heard at 00:51 and 00:45, respectively.
Another Twitter user revealed that he had to remove the music from the advertisement video to better study the track. A third netizen stated that Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, Suga, and RM were used for the clip's background song.
Big Hit Entertainment quickly responded to the fans' queries and revealed that the voices they heard were actually from BTS. The agency stated that Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, Suga, and RM recorded the song for the global Coca-Cola advertisement.
As of press time, the Coca-Cola advertisement has garnered more than 2.7 million views on Twitter. It also gathered more than 28,200 likes and 14,100 comments on the social media platform.
Meanwhile, Billboard proclaimed BTS as the longest No. 1 on the Billboard K-Pop 100 with their hit single titled "Dynamite." Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, Suga, and RM reigned supreme with the said track for 17 weeks. Aside from that, the same song even peaked at No. 1 on Global Excl. U.S. 200, Global 200, and Hot 100 Charts.
If that is not enough, BTS has even announced as the K-pop act with the most No. 1 song and the longest No. 1 song in history. Even Suga, who is currently on a hiatus due to his shoulder injury, topped the chart with the song titled "Eight," which is his first collaboration with South Korean pop superstar IU.
The song "Dynamite" by BTS spent 17 weeks at No. 1, followed by IU and Suga's "Eight" and ZICO's "Any Song," which both spent six weeks at the top spot. "Beach Again" by SSAK3 spent 5 weeks, "Start Over" by Gaho, and "How You Like That" by BLACKPINK both spent four weeks in the No. 1 rank.
BTS member Suga was also the second South Korean solo artist to enter the Billboard Pop Songs Chart after PSY. The co-member of Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, and RM made it to the tally's 40th spot with the track called "Blueberry Eyes," which is his collaboration with American singer MAX.
Though the said track is not considered big as PSY's "Gangnam Style," BTS member Suga has definitely, brought another color to the boy group's banner for doubling the number of solo K-Pop acts who have landed on the Billboard Pop Songs Chart.
