INFINITE L to Launch First Solo Album Ahead of Military Enlistment

INFINITE L (Kim Myung Soo) is about to enlist in the military this coming February. But before he starts his mandatory military service, he is set to release new music as his gift for his loyal fans.

Last December 2020, an official from INFINITE L's management company stated that the idol has submitted an application to the Marine Corps and got accepted. Hence, from the end of February, he will carry out his duty as an active soldier. It was reported that he decided to join the military after finishing his role in the KBS drama "Royal Secret Agent."

Moreover, the representative shared that Myungsoo is preparing a gift for his fans, and it will be revealed before his military enlistment.

On Wednesday, Jan. 6, the management label of INFINITE L announced that Kim is gearing up to release his solo album in early February. This album will be L's very first solo album since his debut in the entertainment industry 11 years ago as a member of the boy group INFINITE in 2010. It is said that Kim has been working on his solo album for a very long time, and it is expected to be a more heightened style of music.

What makes the upcoming release more special is that it will be Myungsoo's last album before he joins the Marine Corps in February. He is the last member of INFINITE to enter the military, following Sungkyu, Sungyeol, Dongwoo, Sungjong, and Woohyun.

Kim Myung Soo, known professionally as L, debuted as a vocalist of the boy band INFINITE in June 2010, with Woollim Entertainment as their management agency. The group's first release is a mini-album titled "First Invasion" featuring the title track "Come Back Again."

Apart from taking part in releases and promotions of INFINITE, Kim has also challenged himself in the world of K-drama. He made his acting debut in 2011 through the Japanese drama "Jiu Keishicho Tokushuhan Sousagakari." In the following years, he continuously received acting projects, including the dramas "Flower Band," "My Catman," "Ms. Hammurabi," and more.

INFINITE L rose to fame as an actor when he starred in MBC's historical drama "The Emperor: Owner of the Mask" in 2017. That year, he received the "Actor of the Month" award from MBC Dramanet for his outstanding performance.

Other than that, Myungsoo made his film debut in "Mister Shark," which is about a boy who established a friendship with a shark. The actor's latest drama is "Royal Secret Agent" which is about a secret royal inspector who works hard to give justice, provide solutions for the people's problems, and uncover corruption. In the show, he starred as Sung Yi Kyum who turned from being a public official to a secret agent.

Last August 2019, L departed from Woollim Entertainment following his contract expiration. According to the idol, he wants to take on new challenges that's why he left the company. Despite this, he will still be part of INFINITE.
