BLACKPINK has successfully carried out their first online concert, a fantastic way to end the first month of a new year!
On Jan. 31, BLACKPINK conducted their livestream concert called "THE SHOW" that was broadcast worldwide via their official YouTube channel. During the event, the quartet performed their numerous hit songs and tracks from their first studio album "THE ALBUM," which was issued in October of last year.
BLACKPINK Performs Their Hit Songs During "THE SHOW" Online Concert
To kick off the concert, the group performed one of their well-known singles, "Kill This Love" and was followed by a performance of "Crazy Over You," a song from their latest album, for the first time. BLACKPINK continued to showcase powerful and charismatic performances for "How You Like That," the title track of "THE ALBUM," and other songs such as "Playing with Fire," Don't Know What To Do," "As If It's Your Last," "Lovesick Girls," "DDU-DU DDU-DU," "Pretty Savage," and Sour Candy," a collaboration song with famous pop artist Lady Gaga.
BLACKPINK members also took the stage one by one, showing off their individual charms and skills. Jisoo amazed viewers with a self-written Korean version of Tove Lo's "Habits," while Lisa heated things as she covered Doja Cat's "Say So." Moreover, Jennie surprised everyone with a new rap portion in her "SOLO" performance, and Rosé teased fans for her upcoming solo album with a performance of an English-language track titled "GONE."
BLACKPINK also took the time to reminisce about their first concert back in 2018. A video in which the members visited the venue was presented during the recent concert. As the online concert started to wrap up, the members expressed their gratitude to their loyal fans as well as to their staff and everyone behind the production of the event.
BLACKPINK "THE SHOW" Online Concert Receives Rave Reviews and Thousands of Viewers
Following the show's conclusion, it quickly became a hot topic among fans and netizens, who were completely delighted and satisfied with BLACKPINK's performances. Many gave rave reviews regarding not only the group number but also the solo performances. Some expressed how much they loved Jennie's new rap part to her "SOLO" as well as Jisoo's Korean lyrics for her cover of "Habits."
Others complimented Lisa's amazing rap and dancing skills and Rosé's angelic voice. Some viewers praised the backup dancers and the live band. Some even mentioned the ticket price, saying that it was too low for the high quality of the stages. They said that the money they spent is worth it considering that they can watch the whole thing more than once.
Apart from that, after BLACKPINK's livestream concert, it was revealed that excluding potential viewers from China, the ticket-holders who tuned in to the event totaled up to approximately 280,000, which is about five concerts at stadiums that can accommodate 50,000 fans. With each ticket costing around 42,000 KRW, the estimated gross amount of earnings from the 90-minute concert is 11,760,000 KRW (10,510,000 USD).
To celebrate the successful online concert, BLACKPINK members took to their personal SNS accounts to share photos that were taken after the event.
