HyunA, EXO D.O, & More: These K-Pop Idols are the Most Popular in China This Week

According to the weekly AiMan Index Chart, 20 celebrities are the most famous Korean acts in China this week. Fourteen male singers are included and only five female K-pop idols made it to the list, plus only one Korean actor is there.

AiMan Commercial Index is the most popular celebrity commercial value analysis platform in China. The index includes an individual's fandom power, their total social media mentions, and the activities of their fan club, as well as how well-known they are in the country.

AiMan Commercial Index updates their rankings weekly, most recently issuing the most prominent K-pop idols in China index for the first week of February.

BTS V ranked in fifth place with 24,955 points. V has become more famous nowadays after he released moresolo tracks in 2020. He lent his voice for the song "Sweet Night," the OST of the JTBC drama "Itaewon Class.". It was so well-received that the track debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's U.S. Digital Song Sales chart, becoming the highest debut for a K-pop solo artist in the chart's history. Last Christmas, BTS V launched his solo song "Snow Flower" featuring Peakboy.


Sitting at no. 4 is ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo with 26,712 points. He is currently active as an actor in the entertainment industry, playing Lee Suho, one of the male leads in the webtoon-based television series, "True Beauty." Because of his excellent acting skills, Eunwoo has been stealing viewers' hearts as Suho. Since it started airing, the drama continues to see increases in its ratings. Recently, he released a new song titled "Love So Fine" as the OST for "True Beauty."


BLACKPINK Jennie claimed the No. 3 position with 26,923 points. The female idol recently opened her YouTube channel, which quickly gained one million subscribers in only seven hours after it was launched, becoming one of the fastest YouTube channels to hit the milestone. In less than a few hours, the "SOLO" singer attained both the silver and gold play button. As of Feb. 4, BLACKPINK Jennie has five million subscribers, just three weeks after the channel was opened.

EXO D.O. is the second most popular K-pop idol in China this week, having total points of 28,616. The singer-actor has just returned from the military on Jan. 25. In October 2020, even though he was in the military, D.O. was cast in the upcoming science-fiction movie titled "The Moon." He will play a stranded man in outer space, particularly on the moon due to an accident. Besides acting, the EXO member previously shared that he is working hard on preparing his solo album.

Topping this week's AiMan Index Chart is solo artist HyunA with 41,250 points. The "Bubble Pop" singer recently made a comeback with the release of her new mini-album, "I'm Not Cool," which contains the title track of the same name. HyunA, together with PSY and DAWN, wrote the lyrics of the song. Upon release, "I'm Not Cool" rose to the top of major real-time music charts in Korea, including Bugs and Genie. It also earned a gold certification in less than half an hour on China's biggest music platform QQ Music.
