BLACKPINK-Inspired Burgers? Burger King Thailand Launches New Menu Item for Valentine's Day

The Thailand division of Burger King, a hamburger fast food restaurant, has launched a unique treat in celebration of Valentine's Day - and it completely reminds people of the famous K-pop girl group, BLACKPINK.

Burger King Thailand Launches "Black and Pink" Burgers

On Feb. 2, Burger King Thailand released its "Black and Pink" Burgers that are available in two varieties - one with dark beef between black buns and one with light salmon between pink buns.

The first one, called the "Black Double Grilled Onion Burger," is for the singles, and the other one is "Pink Salmon Burger" for the lovers. But both varieties will be available for all the singles and couples to try to make their Valentine's Day more special.

The "Black Double Grilled Onion Burger" has two thick beef patties with two melting cheese, grilled onion, and special barbecue sauce. From the title itself, the buns are naturally colored black, just like its counterpart served in naturally-colored pink buns. According to the company, the burgers are colored with natural edible element.

In addition, the "black" burger costs 149 baht (approximately 5,600 KRW). Meanwhile, the "Pink Salmon Burger" features deep-friend, breaded salmon fillet with thick melting cheese. It is also prepared with a special sauce and is quite cheaper than the first variety - it is sold for 89 baht (about 3,300 KRW).

Burger King Thailand has already issued an advertisement video for their "Black and Pink" burgers, which will be available only for a limited time - from Feb. 2 to 28. The burgers are now being sold at every branch in Thailand except those at the airport.

Are Burger King Thailand's "Black and Pink" Burgers Connected to BLACKPINK?

While the fast food restaurant's new products seem to promote BLACKPINK or are released in collaboration with the K-pop girl group, an official from the company clarified that their new menu items are not officially affiliated with the quartet.

However, several foreign media and even fans believe that the so-called "Black and Pink" burgers may be a reference to the Korean act which is actually very popular in Thailand, considering that the band's main dancer, Lisa, is from the country.

Other than that, the agency shared that their latest items are already sold out at some stores and they will be resupplying the product soon.
