GOT7's 'Encore' Included in Spotify's Latest 'Trending Tracks' Playlist + Only K-pop Boy Group Song to Rank

GOT7's new song "Encore" sees constant support from fans all over the world even after five days since it was released on various streaming platforms. Recently, the track has been added to Spotify's latest "Trending Tracks" playlist, signifying its growing popularity at present.

GOT7 Returns with a New Song after One Month since Leaving JYP Entertainment

On Jan. 19, the exclusive contracts of the K-pop boy group ended with JYP Entertainment, and all seven members decided to leave their longtime management agency. After the announcement of their departure, rumors started to make the rounds online saying that the septet will be disbanding. But GOT7 officially put the rumors to rest with the launch of a new song titled "Encore" on Feb. 20.

"Encore" is a pop-R&B track described by Forbes as a song "that's acted as a cornerstone of GOT7 album tracks." Member Jinyoung wrote the lyrics of the single and also acted as a co-producer. This track reads like a love letter to their fans, who are often referred to as AHGASE, as it conveys the promise GOT7 made that they will continue to make music together even the members are signed with different companies.

Because of the great support the song received, "Encore" by GOT7 quickly soared to No. 1 on different charts, including the iTunes Top Songs charts in more than 50 countries, some of Korea's prime real-time music charts, and Genius Korea's K-Ballad chart.

Today, Feb. 26, marks the song's sixth day after its launch, but it continues to do well on charts and has been added to multiple playlists on Spotify. In particular, GOT7's "Encore" is placed 27th in Spotify's latest "Trending Tracks" playlist. This is the only K-pop boy group song that is included in the said list, and one of the other eight Korean songs to secure a spot in the playlist.

The other K-pop singles on the newest "Trending Tracks" playlist on Spotify are ASTRO Cha Eun Woo's "Love so Fine" at No. 23, SF9 Chani's "Starlight" at No. 29, Sunjae's "I'm Missing You (True Beauty OST Part 4) at No. 35, IU's "Celebrity" at No. 45, HyunA's "I'm Not Cool" at No. 52, and WINNER Mino's "Okey Dokey" featuring Zico at No. 64.

The English version of ITZY's "Not Shy" also made it to the list, claiming the No. 67 spot. Moreover, GOT7 has another entry to said Spotify playlist, and it is the solo track "One in a Million" by member Mark in collaboration with Sanjoy. This song, in fact, follows "Encore," sitting at No. 28.

Furthermore, GOT7's new song "Encore" has been added to more playlists on the popular streaming platform. As of writing, the single ranks third on the "Hot Hits Korea" playlist, and 11th on the "Hot Hits Sri Lanka." It has also entered the "Hot Hits Bangladesh" Spotify playlist, coming in at No. 31. On the "New Music Wednesday" playlist, the track is at No. 23.

Additionally, "Encore" has already more than one million streams on the platform.
