GOT7 Youngjae recently graced the cover of The Star's March issue and sat down for an interview with the magazine to talk about what he plans on doing this year, now that he is signed as a solo artist with Sublime Artist agency.
GOT7 Youngjae Reveals His Plans as a Solo Artist with The Star Magazine
On Jan. 20 this year, GOT7's main vocalist has become an official soloist under Sublime Artist Agency. He is the first member of the boy group to sign with a new label following departure from their longtime label JYP Entertainment.

As his first official activity under the management of Sublime Artist Agency, GOT7 Youngjae took part in a pictorial for the March issue of The Star magazine. Following the photoshoot, the "Breathe" writer participated in an interview to answer a few questions. He was first asked about the genre he would like his solo album to be. The idol said that he wanted to release a ballad album, where he can show a different side of him.
In a separate interview in the past after the release of their latest album "Breath of Love: Last Piece," the GOT7 member often shared that he wants to try writing ballad songs. In particular, he would like to create songs that are inspired by real-life stories.
Choi Youngjae was also asked whether he has any plans on launching his own YouTube channel. Sublime Artist Agency's new soloist said that he does plan on opening one and shares what kind of content he will be posting on his channel. "I want to upload original songs that I wrote or cover songs, as well as share vlogs of me producing my own songs," he stated.
Other than that, the interviewer asked GOT7 Youngjae to share his 2021 bucket list, but he has only one goal - to rank No. 1 on a music chart. He said that he would like more people to know about him and his music. "If it's not possible this year, then maybe it can be in 2022," he added.

During the interview with The Star magazine, GOT7's main vocalist was also asked to recommend a song fans can enjoy listening to in the spring. He answered, "There is a GOT7 song titled 'Moon U.' I don't know who composed it, but it's so good." (Youngjae is the lyricist and composer of "Moon U.")
When it comes to giving tips to become happier or more positive, the GOT7 member stated, "When bad thoughts come to your mind, clean your house or do the dishes that piled up, or make sure there's not a single speck of dust around your house. You will end up not thinking about the bad things because of that."

Lastly, Choi Youngjae shared what he feels about the fact that he and his fellow GOT7 members are unable to meet the fans in person. "It's a shame that we can't conduct any concert and see our fans. We actually had tour dates planned but they were canceled because of COVID-19, so it's regretful for both GOT7 and our fans. I hope the day when we can enjoy the stage with fans comes quickly," he said.
