BLACKPINK Rosé's 'On the Ground' & Solo Debut Album Sweep Various Major Music Charts in China

BLACKPINK's Rosé has just made one of the biggest solo debuts in K-pop with her single album "-R," which contains the title track "On the Ground." The female K-pop solo artist has been topping major music charts all over the world since her solo debut album and solo track were released on March 12. One of the countries where BLACKPINK's Rosé is gaining explosive popularity is China.

BLACKPINK's Rosé Takes No. 1 on Major Music Charts in China with "On the Ground"

Shortly after BLACKPINK Rosé made her solo debut on March 12, her solo track "On the Ground" and the single album "-R-" quickly climbed to the top of various major music charts around the world, including the iTunes charts, MelOn, and QQ Music.

In particular, Rosé's solo track "On the Ground" has been topping major QQ Music charts. On March 15, the song took the No. 1 position of four major music charts such as New Songs Chart, Popularity Song Chart, Trend Index Chart, and Music Video Chart. The BLACKPINK member has never left the top spot since "On the Ground" was released.

Meanwhile, in South Korea, BLACKPINK Rosé's "On the Ground" is at No. 2 on Genie and Bugs, No. 3 on FLO and MelOn as of March 15 at 3 p.m. KST. The B-side track "Gone," on the other hand, is at No. 3 on Bugs, No. 6 on Genie, No. 7 on FLO and MelOn.

BLACKPINK Rosé Tops Different Major Music Charts in China with Solo Debut Album "-R-"

On March 15, it was revealed that "-R-" has remained No. 1 for the third day in a row on the QQ Music digital album sales chart. It is also currently ranking high on China's other major music sites such as Kuguo and Kuwo.

In addition, YG Entertainment has announced that BLACKPINK Rosé's single album has now sold more than 1.1 million copies on QQ Music.

"-R-" previously hit the one-million mark on the platform on March 13, making BLACKPINK Rosé the very first female K-pop artist to achieve this feat, as well as the second Korean act after BIGBANG G-Dragon.

Rosé's solo debut album has also been certified diamond on China's largest music site after exceeding 800,000 downloads, joining BLACKPINK's "Kill This Love."

Even before "-R-" was released, the album has earned the BLACKPINK member titles of being the first singer in 2021 and the fastest Korean artist to surpass 100,000 digital pre-orders on QQ Music. The single album also gained thousands of downloads since it was launched, and it eventually attained multiple certifications on QQ Music.

These major feats are now added to BLACKPINK Rosé's list of achievements, which includes obtaining more than 50 No. 1s on iTunes charts, ranking eighth on the Spotify Global Top 50 chart, spending the third consecutive day at No. 1 on the worldwide iTunes songs chart, and more.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK Rosé will appear on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on March 16 (US local time), and then on "Knowing Bros" on March 20 at 9 p.m. KST.
