BLACKPINK Rosé's 'On the Ground' MV Ranks First on K-pop Radar's Weekly Music Video Chart + See Top 10

On March 12, BLACKPINK Rosé made her long-awaited solo debut with her first single album titled "-R-." On the same day, the music video for "On the Ground," the album's title track, was released. Shortly after it was uploaded, the MV quickly gained thousands of views and eventually became millions after an hour.

The following day, it was revealed that BLACKPINK Rosé has set a new record on YouTube in terms of views within the first 24 hours. And because of this, her "On the Ground" MV became the most-viewed K-pop music video this week, according to K-pop Radar.

K-pop Radar is a fandom data specialized service that records the amount of change in the number of music video views, YouTube subscribers, fan café members, and followers on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter of more than 500 Korean artists.

BLACKPINK Rosé's "On the Ground" MV Takes No. 1 Spot on K-pop Radar's Weekly Music Video Chart

On March 16, K-pop Radar revealed the Weekly Top 10 Music Video chart for the 11th week of 2021. And, sitting at the top of the chart is BLACKPINK Rosé's "On the Ground" MV, which recorded a total of 48,982,500 views within the past week.

According to K-pop Radar, Rosé's music video for her solo track took first place on the Weekly Music Video Chart on the same day of the BLACKPINK member's solo debut on March 12. K-pop Radar also explained that the music video exceeded 10 million views in only four hours and 15 minutes, and after eight hours, it climbed to the top of the said chart.

The idol's debut MV, in fact, surpassed 20 million views on YouTube on the same day of its release. And in its first 24 hours, on March 13 at 2 p.m. KST, the music video amassed a total of 39,062,601 views. Although YouTube has not yet verified the official 24-hour view count, BLACKPINK Rosé's "On the Ground" may have set a new record for the highest number of views attained by a K-pop solo artist's music video in its first 24 hours.

The fact that the music video for "On the Ground" was dropped one day before the 11th week of 2021 ended yet it still claimed the No. 1 spot on K-pop Radar's chart, making this achievement more remarkable.

Apart from the debut MV of BLACKPINK Rosé, the weekly views of the existing BLACKPINK MVs also entered K-pop Radar's Weekly Top Music Video chart. In particular, a total of five songs by the YG girl group made it to the chart. Among them, the number of music videos for BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" increased by about 340,000 views within the previous week, and successfully surpassed 800 million views on March 13.
