SHINee Taemin to Release an OST for New K-drama 'Navillera'

SHINee Taemin has been chosen to sing an OST for a new K-drama titled "Navillera," and the track will be released this month.

"Navillera" is a new ballet-themed drama based on a webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of growth about people who strive to achieve their dreams. It stars Song Kang, Park In Hwan, Na Moon Hee, and Hong Seung Hee.

According to an exclusive report from SPOTV on March 23, Taemin participated in recording a soundtrack for the new tvN drama "Navillera." Titled "My Day," the OST is set for release on March 30, on the fourth broadcast date of the television series.

"My Day" is a soft and emotional ballad song, in which SHINee Taemin's light voice adds color to the calm melody. It will serve as the ending theme song of the new K-drama, which premiered on March 22.

In addition, "My Day" will mark Taemin's first participation in an OST after nearly six years since the release of "Your Name" back in 2015, a duet he sang with late SHINee member Jonghyun for the KBS drama "Who Are You: School 2015."

This is SHINee Taemin's sixth time participating in a drama OST. Apart from "Your Name," Taemin also lent his voice to sing "U" for the 2012 drama "To The Beautiful You," "Steps" for the 2014 Korean TV show "Prime Minister and I," "What's This Feeling" and "I'm Crying for the 2017 K-drama "Final Life."

Taemin's Solo Comeback and SHINee's Full-Group Return

Prior to his OST release, Taemin made his highly-anticipated return as a solo artist and participated in a full-group SHINee comeback. While his bandmates, Minho, Onew, and Key, carried out their military service, Taemin launched his third Korean studio album "Never Gonna Dance Again," which marked his solo comeback after more than a year since the release of his second Korean extended play "Want" in February 2019.

SHINee Taemin's "Never Gonna Dance Again" was issued in two parts, in September and November.

On Sept. 7, he dropped the song "Criminal" along with its music video. "Criminal" expresses attraction towards someone as Stockholm syndrome.

This track was chosen as the No. 1 unforgettable song that defined K-pop in 2020.

On Nov. 9, the song "Idea" was released as the second part of Taemin's "Never Gonna Dance Again." It is about the process of getting rid of one's past self and searching for one's true self.

After more than three months, Taemin reunited with his SHINee members and made their long-awaited comeback as a full group.

On Feb. 22, the quartet's seventh Korean studio album "Don't Call Me" was dropped together with a music video for the lead single of the same name.

Shortly after its release, SHINee's new album managed to grab the No. 1 position on the iTunes Top Album Charts in more than 40 countries. The boy group even debuted at No. 7 on the Global Digital Artist Rankings, proving the great success of their new release on various major music sites worldwide.
