Shortly after being accused of treating participants of Mnet's "Kingdom" unfairly, the production team stated their side and expressed an apology.

Mnet's "Kingdom" Production Team Released Apology Statement over Allegations of Unfair Treatment
On March 29, the production team of "Kingdom" apologized, "Since it was the first contest, we set the production cost to coordinate the stage of the six teams, but we are sorry that we couldn't consider the scope and availability in detail."
They added, "After the first competition, the production team is taking the problem seriously. However, for the best stage, artists' creativity should be the top priority, and we are cautious and worried about not being able to clearly present all parts as guides."
The production team also promised, "We are working closely with the agencies of six teams and six teams to help artists focus on the stage and create the best stage, and we will do our best to ensure that the upcoming competition goes smoothly."
Earlier, there were allegations that Mnet is being biased towards a group that is said to be a company affiliated with CJ ENM. While the production cost was only limited, this group sparked suspicions after showcasing expensive props and set.

Elimination Rounds for Mnet's "Kingdom" Will Be Abolished, According to K-industry Insiders
On the other hand, elimination rounds for the upcoming reality music show are also announced to be removed.
According to multiple K-pop officials, Mnet's "Kingdom" will not be having elimination rounds, and the six participant K-pop groups can proceed to the next round as long as there will be no issues.
As there will be no elimination, the process, and rules of calculating the scores will also change, wherein the results will be determined by music experts and voting by domestic and international fans.
Meanwhile, Mnet's "Kingdom," a sequel of its Season 1 "Road to Kingdom," will feature six groups including BTOB, SF9, The Boyz, Stray Kids, ATEEZ and iKON. The show will be hosted by TVXQ member Changmin and the broadcast will start on April 1.
In particular, Yunho is supposedly one of the MCs for the show alongside Changmin, which is about to showcase their influence and title as "Emperor of K-pop." However, Yunho voluntarily stepped down from the show after the news of him violating the regulated curfew in South Korea, in line with the surge of coronavirus.
