After seven months, global phenom MONSTA X has officially announced their return with the schedule for their ninth mini-album, "One of a Kind."

On the afternoon of May 10, MONSTA X surprisingly released the full schedule leading to the release of "One of a Kind" through their official social networking sites (SNS). They have already begun with the release of the full tracklist last May 13. It will be followed by a lineup of concept photo releases on May 18, 20, 22, 24, and 25. MONSTA X will unveil the first music video teaser on the 27th, and the second teaser on the 30th. The Starship Entertainment group is also set to give their beloved MONBEBE with a "One of a Kind" album preview before the mini-album officially drops the following day.

"One of a Kind" officially ends the group's seven month hiatus since last year's Korean-language mini-album, the critically and commercially successful "Fatal Love." Their 2020 release topped the South Korean Gaon Albums Charts, peaked at number 16 at the Japanese Oricon Charts, and charted in other countries including the US Billboard World Albums, the UK OCC Digital Albums, and the Polish ZPAV Albums charts. Its lead single, "Love Killa," also managed to rank among various singles charts and was included among different year-end lists.

MONSTA X has recently released their third Japanese-language album and eighth overall, "Flavors of Love," last May 5. It was preceded by its title track of the same name last April. Proving the group's global dominance, "Flavors of Love" sold 20,312 on the first week of its release and topped the weekly charts for both the Japanese Billboard and Tower Records charts.

Three songs on the mini-album, "Wish on the Same Sky," "Love Killa," and "Wanted," charted on the Japnese Billboard Hot 100 and Oricon Singles charts.
