aespa's 'Next Level' Reaches New Peak on MelOn Weekly Chart, The Only Song by a Rookie Group Inside the Top 10

aespa's comeback song "Next Level" has scored a new height on the latest MelOn weekly chart! Additionally, it is the only entry of a rookie group inside the Top 10, proving their great popularity in South Korea.

On June 7, MelOn revealed its weekly chart for the week of May 31 to June 6. This chart reveals the most popular songs of various genres in South Korea for that particular week.

In the previous week (May 24 to 30), aespa's "Next Level" climbed to No. 6 after being in tenth place on the MelOn chart for the week ending on May 23. It was the highest-charting song by a 2020-21 rookie group and fourth-generation act last week.

Based on the latest MelOn weekly chart, aespa's "Next Level" has reached a higher spot. The song jumped two spaces from No. 6 to reach No. 4.

With this, it remains the highest-ranking track by a new idol group and fourth-generation artist on the chart. Moreover, the song has now spent a total of three weeks inside the Top 10 of MelOn weekly chart.

In addition to this, "Next Level" by Winter, Giselle, Karina, and Ningning is the only song by a rookie group inside the Top 10 of the MelOn chart.

While reaching a new peak on the weekly chart is already a great achievement, being the only new idol group inside the Top 10 makes this feat more impressive. This only shows that aespa's "Next Level" gained additional unique listeners on MelOn for the week of May 31 to June 6.

Besides the original weekly chart, aespa's "Next Level" also made it to the weekly dance chart of MelOn for the week of May 31 to June 6. The track sits at No. 3, becoming the second-highest-charting song by a girl group, following Oh My Girl's "Dun Dun Dance."

"Next Level" by Giselle, Ningning, Winter, and Karina is one of the only two tracks by a 2020-21 rookie group on the dance chart, with the other one being "ASAP" by STAYC.

Over on MelOn 24Hits, aespa's comeback song is currently sitting at No. 4 as of 3 p.m. KST today (June 8).

Furthermore, aespa's "Next Level" has now reached 20 million streams on MelOn. This is the second girl group song to hit the mark after "Dun Dun Dance" by Oh My Girl.
