BTS Jungkook is the Most Searched K-Pop Idol on YouTube in the First Half of 2021
Taking the throne as the most searched K-pop idol on YouTube in the first half of the year is Jungkook, with a search index of 877.78. This is the third time Jungkook has topped the list, doing so in 2019 and again in 2020.
It was previously reported that Jungkook was also the most searched idol on Google worldwide, with a search index of 600. The "Euphoria" singer has topped the list for three consecutive years, doing so in 2019 and in 2020.

On Tumblr, Jungkook was ranked at the top of the platform's "Top K-Pop Stars" for three consecutive years. On Twitter, on the other hand, Jungkook has the most retweeted tweet of 2019 and the second-most retweeted tweet of 2020.
In March 2021, Jungkook set a new all-time record for the highest amount of real-time viewers in V Live. His solo live stream amassed over 22 million simultaneous viewers. Previously, Jungkook held that record for another solo broadcast in October 2018, which surpassed 3.7 million viewers worldwide.
IU is the Most Searched Female K-Pop Idol on YouTube in the First Half of 2021
The highest-ranking female idol on the list is none other than "The Nation's Little Sister," IU. The soloist ranked at third place with a search index of 544.44.
In January 2021, IU snagged the "Digital Daesang Song of the Year" award at the 35th Golden Disc Awards for her song "Blueming." While on stage, IU teased fans that she will be returning to the music scene soon with a new single titled "Celebrity." Her company, Edam Entertainment, soon confirmed the news.
On January 27, 2021, IU released "Celebrity," a song described to be refreshing and cheerful with an energetic pop side.
On March 25, 2021, IU dropped her fifth studio album, "LILAC," which was previously announced to fans on March 3. "LILAC" was an immediate success in South Korea. "LILAC" debuted at number one on the Gaon Album, Chart, with all songs of the album charting in the top 30 of the Gaon Digital Charts.
