'BLACKPINK: The Movie' Will be Presented at the Film Market at Cannes Film Festival

BLACKPINK's upcoming documentary film, "BLACKPINK: The Movie" will be presented at Cannes, a reputable annual film festival in France! In addition, Screen Daily also actively promotes the film through a cover ad!

On July 12, Korean media outlet, Sports Dong-A, released an article about the world-renown K-pop group, BLACKPINK.

In the news, they announced that the quartet's soon-to-be-released documentary film, "BLACKPINK: The Movie" will be presented at the Cannes Film Market, a business counterpart of the Cannes Film Festival.

The global group BLACKPINK is approaching not only K-pop fans worldwide but as well as film enthusiasts!

On July 7, the opening day of the Cannes Film Festival, "BLACKPINK: The Movie" has been actively promoted by Screen Daily, the official newsletter of Cannes.

According to the source, YG Entertainment and distributor CJ 4DPlex are using the 74th Cannes International Film Festival, which is currently underway, as the outposts of the film promotion.

The Cannes Film Market, which opened with the Cannes International Film Festival, presents films to film buyers from all over the world, which includes the idol group's documentary.

In addition to the promotion, Screen Daily, the online website for the British Film Magazine Screen International, also cited "BLACKPINK: The Movie" as one of the hottest Korean Films at the Cannes Film Market.

It is not stated whether the whole documentary will be shown at the Cannes Film Festival; however, fans, particularly BLINKs (fandom of BLACKPINK) are showing positive responses due to the film getting exposure from one of the biggest and most prestigious film festivals.

"BLACKPINK: The Movie" to Premiere in More than 100 Foreign Countries and Korea

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will release its documentary film "BLACKPINK: The Movie" on August 4.

The documentary will revolve around the four-member group's journey from its debut on August 8, 2016, to its recent status as "Biggest Girl Group in the World."

The film will also feature the members including Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa's memories with fans, stages, rehearsals, etc. It is expected that viewers will get to know more about the behind-the-scenes and stories about BLACKPINK's hit tracks.

In addition to the aforementioned details, the movie will also be presented first in six countries including Korea, Germany, Finland, and Mexico. Afterward, it will expand its release to more than 100 foreign countries including the U.S. and the U.K. respectively.

"BLACKPINK: The Movie" is consistently attracting interest from fans as the first project of BLACKPINK's "4+1 Project" in celebration of their fifth debut anniversary.
