BLACKPINK's Potential New Song "Touchdown" Leaked Online

On July 20 local time, media outlet HYPEBAE - the female-centric platform of HYPEBEAST - reported that YG Entertainment's top girl group, BLACKPINK's potential new song, was leaked online.

According to the media outlet, fans of BLACKPINK, BLINKs, speculate that the four-member K-Pop group might be releasing a new song called "Touchdown." This speculation arose after a demo track that was allegedly sung by a trainee at YG Entertainment was leaked online.

The demo song in question was said to have been posted by LIL 27 CLUB, a producer and songwriter who have worked alongside HYBE's (formerly Big Hit Entertainment) artists such as BTS, TXT, and ENHYPEN, on his personal Instagram account.

LIL 27 CLUB was said to have posted a "full version" of the song, which is now deleted. Based on the Q&A session that took place on LIL 27 CLUB's Instagram Stories, it seems that the unreleased song was originally produced for an artist under HYBE.

"The song 'Touchdown' is a song for the girls. But what I had uploaded was just the first sketch version demo, and BLACKPINK did not sing in this version," said LIL 27 CLUB.

BLACKPINK fans have begun speculating that if the song "Touchdown" is really a song written for the "How You Like That" singers, then it could potentially be a part of a Rosé and Jennie duo unit, which might also feature a collaboration with Western artists Ariana Grande or Dua Lipa.

The speculations on a collaboration with Ariana Grande or Dupa Lipa came from when Jennie was spotted with record producer, Tommy Brown, who has worked with Ariana Grande. While Dua Lipa also posted a photo of her and the BLACKPINK member back on July 7.

However, nothing has been confirmed whether the song is called "Touchdown," is a song for BLACKPINK or another K-Pop artist, or that there will be a duo unit of Rosé and Jennie.

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment did confirm that Rosé and Jennie were in Los Angeles to work on new music.
