BTS 'Butter' Jacket Shooting Location Welcomes Thousands of Visitors per Day after Local City Reproduces the 'Butter' Props

The location where BTS carried out their "Butter" jacket shooting has been welcoming thousands of visitors this August after the local city displayed similar props for "Butter."

On Aug. 5, an official from Samcheok City shared the increasing number of visitors to the city's beaches, one of which is where BTS had their album jacket filming for "Butter."

The effect of the global boy group BTS is heating the summer at the beach in Samcheok City in Gangwon-do province.

On July 15, all 10 beaches in Samcheok City opened all at once to the public, one of which is called Maengbang Beach.

Maengbang Beach is the jacket shooting location for BTS's "Butter." Here, the local city installed a photo zone where they placed beach umbrellas and chairs that are identical to what the boy group used during their filming.

Officials even placed a sign that says "BTS Album Jacket Shooting Spot" so visitors can easily find the photo zone.

According to the official from Samcheok City, the BTS "Butter" jacket shooting location had nearly 8,000 daily visitors for the past four days, from Aug. 1 to 4.

They added that even on weekdays, there are long lines of visitors who wanted to take a photo at the spot where BTS had their "Butter' jacket shooting.

As more tourists continue to visit Maengbang Beach, the number of visitors to nine other beaches in Samcheok is also increasing rapidly, according to the official.

The total number of visitors to Samcheok beaches until July 30 was about 192,000. With this, the city ranked fifth among the six cities and counties along with the east coast of Gangwon-do during the same period based on the number of visitors to the beach.

Samcheok City then rose to No. 4 on the list on July 31, then it jumped to No. 3 on Aug. 2 and climbed to No. 2 on Aug. 4.

As the number of visitors surged, Samcheok City officials visited and inspected the beaches including Maengbang Beach, and encouraged the workers to keep them clean.

BTS Enters 4 Gaon Charts for Week 31 of 2021

In other news, BTS has landed on four Gaon charts for Week 31 of 2021 (from July 25 to 31).

First, the seven-member boy group entered the Gaon Digital Chart. Their latest English-language song "Permission to Dance" climbed down three spots to No. 5 with 25,200,705 digital index points.

BTS's "Butter" plummeted to No. 7 with 22,393,539 digital index points.

On the Gaon Streaming Chart, the boy group had two entries inside the Top 5: "Permission to Dance" at No. 4 and "Butter" at No. 5.

On the Gaon Download Chart, BTS's "Permission to Dance" sits at No. 6, while "Butter" is at No. 13.

The septet also made it to the latest Gaon Album Chart. Their "Butter" CD claimed the No. 3 spot.

Finally, BTS maintained its position at No. 1 on the Gaon Social Chart.
