BTS has been on the US Billboard's "Hot 100" Top 10 for around three months already, making them the "21st century Pop Icons"!
BTS' 'Butter' Still on Billboard 'Hot 100'!
The latest chart shows that the digital single "Butter" released by BTS last May has recently taken the 4th place on "Hot 100".
The "Hot 100" is Billboard's major chart that ranks singles by incorporating different music streaming platforms. It also tallies the most popular songs in the United States.
After placing on the top spot for ten consecutive weeks with "Butter" and the latest song "Permission to Dance", BTS has shown off their ability to maintain the top spot for 11 weeks.
The worldwide summer song "Butter" - which entered the chart on June 5 and stayed at the top of the "Hot 100" for seven consecutive weeks - handed over the 1st place to "Permission to Dance" on the chart last July 24. Then, it regained the top of the "Hot 100" on the chart on July 31. And as of August 7, it topped the "Hot 100" for the ninth time. Because of this, "Butter" has been awarded the title of "This year's Hot 100 number 1 Song".

BTS' Billboard 'Hot 100' Achievement
Billboard stated that "Butter" recorded 31.6 million radio listeners in their weekly count until August 5. It gathered 79,200 downloads and it took the 10th place on the "Digital Song Sales" chart.
BTS is the only group in Billboard's 62 years to hold the top spot for over seven weeks after entering the "Hot 100" then rising to #1 at the same time as their other song "Batong Touch".
Furthermore, in around 10 months and 2 weeks, the song took the top spot on the "Hot 100" with 5 songs. It set the record for 5 songs in the shortest period of time since "King of Pop" Michael Jackson - 9 months and 2 weeks - in 1987 to 1988.
Meanwhile, BTS started with "Dynamite", which was the first Korean song to top the Billboard "Hot 100" last year, and it also featured in the remix version of "Savage Love", and the album "BE".
The title songs "Life Goes On" (1st), "Butter" (9th), and "Permission to Dance" (1st) topped the "Hot 100" for a total of 15 times.

BTS' Impact on Worldwide Economy
As BTS dominates the charts with their extraordinary records, the economic effect that they create is also remarkable.
A public radio broadcaster in the US recently released an analysis about BTS. It analyzed that BTS' sales volume (around $5 billion, 5.7 trillion won annually) coincides to 0.5% of US GDP ($22 trillion, 25194.4 trillion won), and it is a large engine of the worldwide economy.
It has been stated that BTS' song served as an opportunity for overseas ARMYs to study Korean and also increasing their interest in Korean tourism, movies, broadcasts, fashion, and food.
ARMY, BTS's fan club, is very devoted in supporting the Korean Boy Group. The "BTS Meal", which BTS lately collaborated with McDonald's, has sold out in over 50 countries all over the world.
The broadcast stated that ARMYs' dedicated attitude is because of the new communication method between BTS and their fans.
BTS is building sympathy with their fans, among them during really difficult times. It makes them feel like old friends and eventually accept them in their lives.
