Will There Be a Girls' Generation Comeback? Nation's Girl Group Answers the Question on 'You Quiz on The Block'

Girls' Generation has finally appeared as a whole group for the first time in four years on the latest episode of "You Quiz on the Block," and there the "Nation's Girl Group" revealed whether they will make a comeback.

On Sept. 1 at 8:40 p.m. KST, tvN aired the 121st episode of their entertainment show "You Quiz on the Block," which is hosted by Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho.

The latest episode saw Girls' Generation as a full group for the first time since 2017 when some of the members parted ways with SM Entertainment. This appearance became meaningful as the group celebrated the 14th anniversary of their debut in August.

Girls' Generation Reveals Whether a Full Group Comeback is Possible or Not

On the Sept. 1 broadcast of tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," Girls' Generation appeared along with the eight members of South Korea's women's national volleyball team.

During the talks, Girls' Generation recalled some stories from when they were trainees and were honing their skills with the goal of debuting. The "Nation's Girl Group" also shared how they felt when they officially made their debut.

Many fans can recall that Girls' Generation made their debut with their iconic song "Into the New World" in August 2007. The group subsequently dropped their self-titled debut studio album in November of the same year. This album features the singles "Girls' Generation" and "Kissing You."

Episode 121 of "You Quiz on the Block" also featured Girls' Generation talking about their activities both in South Korea and abroad. Not only that, but the members also showcased their unchanging 14-year friendship, and also made some relentless revelations, heating the scene.

On top of this, hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho asked Girls' Generation about their comeback as a full group. The octet simply replied to this question.

Girls' Generation responded that a full group comeback is always possible, with the members being open for a reunion all the time.

Girls' Generation's Last Comeback as OT8 with 'Holiday Night'

It has been four years since Girls' Generation returned to the K-pop scene with all eight members. Their last OT8 release is "Holiday Night," which was dropped in August 2017. It features the title song "Holiday."

"Holiday Night" is Girls' Generation's sixth Korean-language studio album and was released in celebration of the group's tenth anniversary.

Girls' Generation's sixth full-length album surpassed "The Boys" as the group's fastest-selling album in the first week. "Holiday Night" recorded 90,217 copies in its first-week sales on the Hanteo Chart, while "The Boys" only sold 64,156 copies. It sold more than 167,000 copies by the end of 2017.

Moreover, "Holiday Night" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard World Albums Chart and peaked at No. 2 on the Gaon Album Chart. It also rose to No. 5 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums and No. 6 on New Zealand Heatseeker Albums.

Girls' Generation's "Holiday Night" also landed at No. 16 on Japan's Oricon Album Chart, and reached No. 19 on Billboard Japan Hot Albums Chart.
