Kelly Rowland’s Single Unseats Beyonce’s For No. 1 Spot, But Assures Fans There Is No Feud

This week, Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé hold the top two spots for Most Popular R&B Singles of the Week for the second week in a row. Last week, Beyoncé held the top spot with the release of her single "Grown Woman." But this week, Rowland has unseated her and taken the No. 1 spot with her song "You've Changed," Singersroom.com reports.

Beyoncé and Michelle, another Destiny's Child member, helped Rowland with her song, which is about ditching a cheating lover.

Many rumors circulated around Rowland's other song, "Dirty Laundry." Fans and media believed the lyrics were referring to Beyonce, and Rowland's struggle throughout her life living in her successful friend's shadow: "While my sister was on stage/I was enraged/Went our separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it/Bittersweet, she was up, I was down."

But in an interview, 32-year-old Rowland said a feud between the two is just a story made up by the press, Yahoo! reports.

"I think the people wanted those stories for years and that's just so sad on them because it's not like that," she said.

Rowland also talked about Beyonce's first reaction to "Dirty Laundry": "She looked at me and said it's incredible. And said how proud she was of me," Rowland said.

The singer revealed that the girls are close, even after Destiny's Child fell apart, Us Weekly reports. She told Washington radio station 93.9 WKYS: "What matters to me most is what we have. I'm so grateful for what we have as sisters ... away from Destiny's Child."

While performing in Washington D.C. on Sunday, Rowland broke down in the middle of the song. After a couple moments, she was able to pull herself together and continue singing, to the cheers of her fans. Later, she thanked the audience for their support.

"Doing this song for me was so therapeutic," she told the crowd. "Honesty, like my mama always says, is always the best policy."
