Britney Spears spent a weekend at home in Louisiana, where she made a surprise appearance at her niece's dance recital and hit the gym. But as she headed to the airport, she looked positively worn-out.

According to The Daily Mail, Spears carried a large pillow and looked exhausted as she held hands with her niece, Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter, at the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The 31-year-old pop singer's make-up was smudged and uneven across her face. She wore a baggy, sleeveless white T-shirt, black capris pants, and green Ugg boots. She was definitely dressed for comfort for the plane ride.

Her 4-year-old niece, Maggie Aldridge, carried her own colorful purse and held hands with her aunt through the airport. She also had a fun star-shaped headband pulling back her blonde hair.

Jamie Lynn and Jamie Spears, Britney's father, were also at the airport. Jamie Watson, Britney's sister's fiancé, dropped them off at the airport. The group checked a few bags before heading off to board their flight.

It's been a rough year for Britney Spears. In January, within a matter of weeks Britney announced calling off her engagement to Jason Trawick and that she would not be returning as a judge for "The X Factor."

She is currently dating David Lucado.
