105-Year-Old Driver In New Zealand, One Of The Oldest Worldwide, Says, 'I Could Drive Anything, Anything At All'

An impressive 105-year-old driver says he could drive anything at all and he does not think he's old.

Bob Edwards, the 105-year-old driver, is the oldest man with a driving license in New Zealand, in addition to being one of the oldest people in the world. But Mr. Edwards shared that he is not very keen on his age, "In fact, I don't think I'm old. Not really,"

Edwards learned to drive in a French car with a lever instead of a normal steering wheel and is still active on the road, but now drives his four-wheel-drive red Mitsubishi.

"As far as I'm concerned, driving is a part of me," the 105-year-old driver said. "I mean, that was me. I was a driver. And I could drive anything. Anything at all."

Mr. Bob Edward has been driving for 88 of his 105 years and he's not planning to retire from it yet. Instead, he intends to continue his workout routine every morning in his home gym and cook meals for himself and his wife, who is now 91 years old.

The 105-year-old driver only experienced one crash in his whole life and he has only been penalized with one speeding ticket, which got him very angry years later.

Bob Edwards usually drives three times every week to a store down the road, which is 15 kilometers away. He also picks up his groceries every Sunday and gets the newspapers on other days. Sometimes, he will drive farther to go for a medical checkup or to visit his friends.

The 105-year-old driver grew up in England, where he learned to drive his uncle's De Dion Bouton. He was fascinated with cars, as it was something new during those times.

"Cars were just coming in. I mean, it was just marvelous," he said.

Mr. Edwards acquired his very first driving license when he was 17, in the year 1925.
